Hello !!

Long time since I haven't shared a bootleg here.
Here is "Rhapsody In Red", as I have been requested. From the silvers.

QUEEN
RHAPSODY IN RED

Lineage : Rhapsody In Red (silvers) > WAV (EAC) > Flac (Frontend level 8)

Comments : The first four tracks are taken from a BBC session in 1977 (with audience overdubs).
The rest of the tracks are taken from the oh so famous show at the London Hammersmith Odeon, on 24th December 1975. It is an excellent soundboard recording. One of the several bootlegs containing songs from this concert, the bonus on that one are the first four tracks.

Tracklisting :

01. We Will Rock You
02. It's Late
03. Melancholy Blues
04. Spread Your Wings
05. Now I'm Here
06. Ogre Battle
07. White Queen
08. Bohemian Rhapsody
09. Killer Queen
10. The March Of The Black Queen
11. Bring Back That Leroy Brown
12. Keep Yourself Alive
13. Brighton Rock
14. Son And Daughter
15. Liar
16. In The Lap Of The Gods
17. See What A Fool I've Been

Complete artwork, info.txt, frequency analysis, different logs (SBE check, MPEG check, audiochecker...) are included (as well as the music in itself of course !) :

if your ISP is dynamic IP based (my case), you don't have to wait (disconnect / delete temp files & cookies / reconnect) or just use US Downloader: http://queenzone.com/forums/1179241/usdownloader-mediafire-megaupload-plus-cryptload-for-megaupload-links.aspx

Wow. Thanks, Olivier. Many thanks. Is this one that killer version of "Spread Your Wings"? I listened to it long ago and was looking for it!!!  Thanks a million.

Well...(heads down, kicking the floor softly and knotting the fingers as a result of absolute shyness)...well...how’s life in general? Belgium is a beautiful country...did you read about the soaring surge in the unemployment rates of the three Baltic states? (trying to look clever). The economic downturn...(cleaning the glasses and tossing the hair)...well...it must have something to do with the surprising results of the Japanese elections. By the way, do you remember Queen, the band? The rock band? I listened to one of their gigs a long time ago and sometimes I think it’d be an interesting experience to listen to it again. The ¨hanging around¨ gig, do you happen, I’m not asking you to share it, by no means, I’m just asking because...I know fans like to talk about their most beloved bands, so, if you wanna talk about it I offer my ears and eyes and all my attention...so if you happen to have the ¨hanging around¨ gig and would like to about it, I’m here, I understand this need of the fans, sometimes they even want to share the stuff they like, I’m not saying you should, of course, I’m here as an understanding friend whom you can freely talk to.

Thanks. See you anytime.

You're welcome.

Indeed, Spread Your Wings from this 1977 session is excellent. I always loved that song !! One of the less interesting for some, but I always found Freddie's voice on that song really effective. Especially, when he sings the "don't you know who you are" line. I'm not as skilled as you to talk about it, I know you're better than me in that field, but that always had a nice effect to my ears. I love it !!

Thanks a million.

Both of us have the same problem. We say thanks several times !!! You're welcome once again. Thanks to you for being there and add something to this forum, some fun and some great analysis.

Well...(heads down, kicking the floor softly and knotting the fingers as a result of absolute shyness)...well...how’s life in general?

Well, sometimes life is good, and sometimes "life is cruel, life is a bitch" (quizz of the day, which Queen song these words are taken from ?). Let's say that all is quite fine in average. But I have received a killer DVD set of the FM Tribute concert and I can't find some time enough to look at it completely !! I told you that life could be cruel... And that DVD that is taunting me, on the shelf, with its eyes blinking...

Belgium is a beautiful country...

Indeed !! all Belgians here raise your arms and shout "We Love the Countryside !" They have an excellent culture and knowledge of Rock music here, that just satisfies me a lot !!  Imagine the farmers, in line in their tractors. I always thought their head was always moving right-left-front-back because of the uneven ground. Now I just discovered that in fact they were headbanging to the sound of Metallica's "Master Of Puppets", can you believe that ??

did you read about the soaring surge in the unemployment rates of the three Baltic states? (trying to look clever).

Indeed, that's unfortunately part of my job. (trying to look boring).

The economic downturn.

Part of my job too. (trying now to be even more boring).

..(cleaning the glasses and tossing the hair)...well...it must have something to do with the surprising results of the Japanese elections.

That's not part of my job (trying to look uninteresting. I think now I am !).

By the way, do you remember Queen, the band? The rock band?

Ouch !! Damn !! I though we were on the Reuters forum !! Sorry. Queen-who ? Not part of my job, but I really would like to !

well, that's where I am puzzled, I don't really know which concert you are talking about. The "hanging around" ? Is it the name of a bootleg ? I don't get it. Tell me more precisely what you want, and I'll share with pleasure if I have !

Thanks. See you anytime.

Hahaha. Of course. Being a student of physics myself, I always thought the role of the uneven ground in farmers' neck acrobatics was being exaggerated. Those fancy tractors people use nowadays in the fields have such a powerful shock absorber that they could drive it up and down the pyrennes as if they were traveling across a flat, lavishly colored dreamy meadow.

Now you see. If, during "One" or any other song, one happens to crash his head against the wheel, he may well sue Metallica for damages! The only way the band could then prove their innocence would be demonstrating that the driver had been listening to MP3 versions of official material downloaded in the web!!! Tractor drivers of the world, unite! (?)

Since you're insisting so much on sharing the concert...I get even embarrassed. Hehehe. : -) It's the hanging around gig, the gig in which Freddie nails the highest verses of "If You Can't Beat Them" just perfectly. It's sounds even more exciting than in the recording because the delivery is raw, almost brutish, full of bravura, and strength and yet the vocals sound very clean - less raspy than in Jazz

It's that concert in Saarbrücken in 1979. It's one of the last concerts before what's known as the "Crazy Tour", I guess - that series of concerts held in December. The Saarbrücken was in August or September. I don't know if they played more than one night there but the version I listened to was the "hanging around" one - it's a pet name I gave to the concert because of the powerful rendition of the song and of this particular, and quite difficult, line.

HELLO SIRGH!!! You have to comment on this in the website. I don't remember listening to Roger harmonizing that section of the song in this gig so it's very likely that they agreed on not doing the usual live vocal harmony to see how Freddie would fair trying to hit the higher notes. It was planned!!! It was maybe a warm-up for the Crazy Tour when Freddie would go out of his way to get his vocals sounding closer to the album versions. Interestingly enough, the thing must have been impossible to go on with, since by the very end of 1979 at the Hammersmith Freddie doesn't go for the A-based verses and drops his pitch to the usual E and adjusts the volume of his delivery to let room for Roger to harmonize the lines, as they usually did! And Freddie took some significant risks in the gig at the Hammersmith!

Torrents are not working for me now. That's a major problem, though. : -(

Olivier, if you feel like sharing it, I understand. You can count on me to download it, I'd be very glad to help you talking about and sharing these things you like so much. lol  : -))

Ok, I better go. :op

I'd like to listen to the Stockholm 1978 one too - it's a concert very early in the tour. When time allows, and if someone feels like sharing it, I'd be really greateful.

Now I'll go before I get slapped in the face. lol

Yeah, you're probably right.  Either that, or Roger was pissed off about his green hair and just wasn't into it.
