Listening to it as I type.  It was promising up until 0:03.

Catchy by his standards but the lyrics are as banal as always.

I haven't heard it, but from your post I can see that it's no "Back from the Dead".

I really liked "Intensive Care" and consider it Robbie's strongest offering, but I passed entirely on buying Rudebox (conveniently marrying a Robbie-fan who owned that album).

Considering my preference for the rather mellow pop-Robbie, I'm undecided about this new single, although it sounded much better on the second listen. Still awaiting to hear it in proper quality (I guess we'll have to pre-order the new album). It does sound like standard Robbie, which is a good thing, but it lacks the instant wow-factor that songs like "Advertising Space" and "Tripping" had (atleast for me personally).

But hey, it's still much better than what Gary Barlow & Co are offering...

I second that. Great album. "Please Don't Die" is my personal favourite.

To be honest, I prefer Mika's new song "We Are Golden" more.

The mouse squeaking gets a bit tedious, though.

I saw the video and heard the song in a more decent quality. It sounded a whole lot better on the second listen, but that's the way it usually goes... I did not understand the point of the video (if there was any), first he drives a motorbike in the desert, then he gets a ride from a woman in heavy makeup, then they cuddle-up to each other by a fire, then Robbie is standing on the wing of an airplane, in the end he gets into a car... Seriously, that is what I saw in the video and that's how I summarized it. I am not drunk or high right now. To me the video almost appears as if it is something manufactured solely for the purpose of being made into a "literal version" on youtube someday.
And I am not implying that music videos do or should make any sense, they rarely do. Clearly I have reached the point in my life when videos are suddenly just confusing and annoying.

The video's definitely stupid, but the song is dope.  (Of course, after Rudebox, almost anything from Robbie would sound good.)
