Here's a bit of interesting news. From Thomas over on Roger Taylor.net

Last Friday Roger did three roundtable interviews in London's Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbride. Thomas Zeidler was some of the lucky ones to be invited. Roger revealed some interesting news:

* Queen + Paul Rodgers is DEFINITELY OVER! There was a sort of fall out between Brian & Paul!
* A BRANDNEW Roger Taylor Single THE UNBLINKING EYE will be released THIS WEEK via Queen online & iTunes
* Roger is thinking about an UK-Tour with Taylor Hawkings (Foo Fighters) in Spring 2010
* Queen will Tour again!
Thanks to Thomas for the information and the picture!

Way-hay!!!!!!!!

------>Gotta love Roger - always good for the truth to finally be heard. See, this is exactly what I already told you all almost exacxtly a year ago - but then hardly anyone wanted to believe me. They already fell out at the very start of the TCR tour. Bottom line: Paul wanted to play new and different songs, Brian refused to rehearse because he thinks he doesn't need to - truth is Brian is getting old and he definately DOES need to rehearse! They tried new things anyway - screwed up on stage and Brian STILL refuses to rehearse. End of trying new things. Except for We Believe - which any guitarplayer can play after 5 minutes of practice. Thanks for reinstating my credibility, Rog! ;-)

---->Great!! I genuinely hope it is better then I expect!

* Roger is thinking about an UK-Tour with Taylor Hawkings (Foo Fighters) in Spring 2010
---->COULD be interisting....
* Queen will Tour again!
---->I fear....

Fantastic news that gets the blood pumping once again.  I hope Rog played all the instruments on the new track, as he did on the fantastic Fun in Space album(minus 50% keyboards)  and many other solo songs.  Be even better if Brian played on it!

Some good news at last. Hope it's a rocker: I'm bored hearing sad songs about aids.

Here's what Thomas also has to say on his own website.

According to Roger the song is about seven minutes long!

It is a protest song against englands war in afghanistan.

Very political and very personal. And that is also the reason why he did not ask Brian to play on it.

BTW: the full song-titel is THE UNBLINKING OF THE EYE (EVERYTHIN IS BROKEN)

It wouldn't be the fact that Chuck Minor couldn't get any of the fuckin' lyrics right, would it?

Or maybe it was that Brian was better at singing I Want It All ... !

Great news!
I only hope that the "Queen will tour again" has nothing to to with Adam Lambert.

@ Hutchence: That's Zagi, right?

Oh how exciting!   A new Roger Taylor track...and yet....it is political...which 99% ruins the song.    How horrible.    Even if it is of my own political persuasion.    Political songs not only are the worse but get too dated as well.    I hope that this is not for any new compilation....

I tend to agree with AlexRocks.  Never been a huge fan of political songs.  I want to hear Rog singing about women, cars and hangovers!  You know, the heavy stuff!  haha  Regardless, it is still good to have a new Rog song.

Yeah, I think more is learned about Afghanistan from simply reading a few reliable sources and then drawing one's own conclusions.  Better yet, you could go there and be a suave Sean Bean kind of hero.

Roger why don't you write about something really compelling?  Maybe a song where you list all of the different positions you nailed the Breakthru chick in??  I bet that was one hell of an acrobatic evening!

I don't think it's a good idea for roger to write about sex and drugs at the ripe age of 60. lol.
