I've purchased the Absolute Greatest book.cd from Amazon UK, but when I try to access the bonus videos online (using Firefox, naturally) it says my disk is invalid!

What gives

Any ideas?

You must insert the Absolute Narrative CD in the CD/DVD drive.

Thanks, I emailed Queen Onine and tehy sent me a vinyl code, so I can access it now.

Hardly worth the effort, it's just a few teaser clips to annoy us just like the Rare Live video did way back when

KevoM, is the Paris 79 clip multi-cam or just the one camera?

Nup.

Just one camera.

Which makes an interesting question. Now that tracks like You Take My Breath Away from Houston 77 are officially released, dose that mean to say that these gigs cannot be downloaded from here

I bought the book and managed to view and download the videos.  It worked on Youtube format.

I can email the videos to you but I don't know how to email thro' QZ and whether attachments work in this email.

Do you SERIOUSLY believe they have something more than on the QTV video we all have?

Believe nor disbelief applies here, because evidence can make the assertion true or untrue.  In this case they do have it, because multi-cam footage from Paris was seen in The Magic Years.

No specific work will have been done on any of the footage for the purpose of streaming them for free - you can be guaranteed of that. So, if only raw footage is readily available - they won't have edited it just for this. There was a clip shown somewhere from Earl's Court where the audio had obviously been remixed - wonder whether the streaming clips have been. And re: Paris - QP are almost guaranteed to have a multitrack recording from the show as well.

The footage from paris 1979 on magic years volume 2 is just a clip from the us "champions" documentary. Yes its multicam, but its proberly all there is. Queen productions only have the one cam version we alle have, only in slightly better quality.

Ah yes, of course it came from the Champions !  So we have to wonder where it came from.  But it's probably long gone after 30 years..

Do you have a good copy of The Champions, by any chance?  The best we've seen is an svcd version..

Try uploading the file to megaupload.com or something of the like.

Done already - see announce section.  Will gradually upload and post.  My upload speed was very bad - took 1.5 hours to upload 38.19 MB.  Will try during weekdays off peak hours for better speed.

SIR GH WROTE :

The version i have is proberly even worse, than the one you have. Its only vcd, and not very good i am afraid.

When it comes to the multicam footage on "The champions" my guess would be that the american station actually went over and made some shots. They proberly filmed more than the footage used in the tv special, but it was not common back then to save unused footage.

Same goes for the New Haven footage from 1982 in the us tv report. They filmed the complete performances of "The your mother down", "Body lanuage" and "Calling all girls" but the unused footage was proberly not saved.

Oh! it would been so cool to have complete pro- shots of the last two.

A little correction on my note about the New Haven footage, "Fat bottomed girls" was filmed, not "Tie your mothe down".

Right, I was gonna ask for clarification there !

All can add is... it's too bad the cutting room floor gets swept up all too often.
