What's with all the deaths of late? The latest: J.D. Salinger.

Good author. Too bad no one reads anything other than The Catcher In The Rye.

Thomas, I'm afraid the link is not working. Or else, it's my sluggish internet connection!

But it's very sad news. I liked his writing.

Fuck!!!.... I was a big fan of his short stories and of course, Catcher in the Rye(my favourite English novel). It wasn't even mentioned in any of the newspapers here. :(
I read on another site that there's still no hope for a Catcher in the Rye movie. Good. No living director could do it justice.

It was there in Times of India and Hindustan Times as well (Mumbai Edition).

I'm guilty of only reading The Catcher in the Rye, but I absolutely loved that book.  I should dig it out again.

Rest in Peace.

I'm just going to boost this to the top again by advising everyone to read Salinger's "Nine Stories" (1953), ISBN 0316767727.

I picked it up in the library once, it was long time ago, and I remember being so thrilled by "A Perfect Day For Bananafish".

But I have only a poor recall of the other stories, so maybe it's a good time to read it all again. : -))

Anyway, thanks for bringing it up.
