For those that watched the Super Bowl did anyone hear the smash up of E.S. Posthumus and We Will Rock You?
I never heard the mix the during the game or pre game.

Me neither...I was wondering if they perhaps played it in the stadium/stands such that it wouldn't have been heard over the television play by play.

It was mixed up, mashed together and then came on as The Who.

"I can't wait to hear their final mix. It's got to be done live some day ... "

So the doc is just saying some day, one day- then why even include SUPERBOWL in the title? Way to make me sit through all that nonsense and a fifth of a Who concert.

I thought this was supposed to be used in a 2-1/2 minute segment during the pre-game show, which I missed. I hate football, so having to turn this on was not appealing. Then watched 1/2 of the game, through the halftime show with the Who, which upholding halftime tradition, sucked. (The only good half-time show I ever saw was when Paul McCartney did it.)

I checked Brian's Soapbox, but no mention. I Googled it but none of the leads produced the piece. However, there were several offering a download that immediately produced all sorts of dreadful virus warnings.

The more important question: Will Brian rant about this?

I have to wonder if this was replaced by this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkF-NKtleKo

This was featured during the pre-show, also features E.S. Posthumus and is around 2:30 in length.

Looks like Queen got bumped for Jay Z.

Yeah - when I saw that, I was like, "Okay...so there's going to be a series of these things for the second half, and this starts it off."

Only, I guess not...

All mention of the mash-up is also gone from the E.S. Posthumus official site. Very odd.

How about this: We all stop bitching and start enjoying the fact the QUEEN are no longer a forgotten band, but a living, breathing entity creating new and exciting music.

from Posthumus Facebook:

ES Posthumus
We also had a chance to rework / remix/mash-up Queen's "We Will Rock You" with help from Brian May himself. Unfortunately the tune was not able to be cleared in time for the SB. Undoubtedly, that track will see the light of day at some point. Dr. Bri (who is the sole writer of WWRY (aka the best rock anthem of all time) calls the Queen/ ESP version the best since the original.

For the record, Brian is not only the most ruling guitar player / writer on the planet, but the most chill, killer cat we've ever met. Hopefully we will hook up again in the near future .......

Also, many thanks to all you guys for your support of Makara. We have the best fans. You guys rule on a level of your own.... See More

Much Love,

Helmut and Franz

Probably a record company due to rights and royalty issues.
