There are many here who love DT.........(if not for you, I would not have given them a try years ago)....yet, I am stunned that they are doing an opening act for.......well, I need to google what's up with Iron Maiden.

DT is excited that they are finally going to play Madison Square Garden.   Crap on me that it will be a Tuesday, and won't be able to make the trip.  Will have to suffer with the horrible parking at Nisson outside of DC..........yet.......................an opening act?!?!?   At this stage of their career?!?!?!

Sir GH, your thoughts please.  Sure you'll love them at whatever Canadian gig you get to see them.

I'm going to see DT and Iron Maiden :) :) :)

The reason DT is the opening act is because of two reasons:

A) They're touring for Iron Maiden's future release The Final Frontier
B) Iron Maiden is simply a more well-known band

Mike Portnoy himself said in the recent press release that there are only three bands DT would ever open for, and Iron Maiden is one of them.  So who are the other two?  Yes and Rush?  Actually, a few years ago, DT threatened to pull out of a European festival because they refused to play after Heaven And Hell, which was pretty humble of them, to say the least.

Anyway.. I'll definitely be checking out a show.  In fact, I'm strongly considering making the trip to the Garden, as it'll probably rank up there with the best DT shows of times past.  But tickets sold out very quickly, so who knows if the stars will line up..

Dream Theater!!!!! They were epic when I saw 'em live last Autumn. Same with Iron Maiden two years ago.

You'd be crazy to miss the chance of seeing them both!!!!!
