I just remembered that quote from a Roger Taylor interview, as shown in the Champions of the World documentary. It's probably out of context here, but it fits nonetheless.

I used to be an avid collector of Queen materials -- from CDs to vinyl, documentaries to concerts, etc., and late last year, it kind of settled down, and I didn't listen to much Queen at all. But recently, I randomly remembered "All Dead, All Dead" and decided to learn it on the piano. So I gave NOTW another listen, and now I'm hooked again. Like Roger said, you "always come back to Queen -- like coming back to mother." ;)

So, my question to you is, what brings you back to Queen if you've ever strayed away from their music? And what caused you to do so? A different artist?

I have to return some videotapes.

When I first got into Queen I used to listen to them ALL the time then I got into other bands such as Bowie and The Beatles Cat Stevens Cream ect ect But I've always gone back to Queen & I totally agree with Rogers Comment :')

I come back to Queen after not lsitening to them for a while if I hear a reference to them or hear them on the radio. When ever I have neglected my Queen CDs I always go back and find my self in amazment at Freddies voice & their musical talent because nothing can compare to it and its just so much more powerful than the other music I listen too. Funny really Im sat here in my bedroom with vast Queen & Freddie pictures on the walls yet hav'nt listened to Queen in waht feels like such a long tme.

At the moment I'm really in to Bowie but in a few weeks I'll probally go back to Queen and be amazed by Freddies voice like the first time I heard him :)

Always loved them and held them up as among the best of the best, but this latest renaissance started just about a year ago when I was roused from an extended pit of despair because of, of all people,  Adam Lambert.  Which trust me, is really, really funny. I was watching the Idol episode with Adam and Queen and at one point Adam reached out and touched Brian on the shoulder while singing Champions.  I sat up immediately and said 'get your hands off Brian May!' right out loud to myself in a dark livingroom. LOL  The articles and rumours about a possible Queen collaboration started right away and I was just beside myself.  I felt like  had to consume and reconsume every note and every lyric because they were shortly going to somehow ruin everything.  And that process slowly reignited my serious passion for Queen and everything else along with it. I joined here about six months later and I am still here, and still grateful. :)

PS.  Adam Lambert may indirectly be my Peaches, but he's still an overhyped theatre arts major lost in streets of LA ;)

Roger's quote is very true. I've been a fan since 77 but put them on the back burner after the Hot Space debacle. Started to get back into them around The Works and back in full force by A Kind Of Magic. Haven't stopped since.
