"Vier gegen Willi" was a german Saturday evening game show produced by Rossacher and Dolezal. The concept was that four people would in the end play agaist "Willi" - a hamster !

The show did not fulfill the expectations of the audience and probably the DoRos brought Freddie in to have a real attraction..."first ever tv appearance...."

It's also obvious, that Freddie actually did not really appear duringĀ the show, his performance was tapedĀ earlier and inserted into the show. You never see him with the audience or the host of the show.
I remember watching that show and it was "neither fish nor flesh".
