Hey! I'm ULTRA pumped up for it, eventhough my Mexican team couldn't beat South Africa in the inauguration.
I hate it how they can generate several opportunities to score, yet they miss and miss and miss.

It was cool having your team playing the first game of the World Cup again, though. :)

And South Africa could have easily won that game too .. hitting the post in the 89th minute was ever close.  That would've sealed the deal.

I don't get people going nuts over it, I mean It's just a game, but I like the atmosphere and the feeling of togetherness knowing how much of the planet pulls together.

I don't realy know why people go nut's for the world cup either, I'm not saying that I am totaly against foot ball, everyone is different, but i dont like it when people get all violent at the end and people get injured or even killed. But anyway, if england wins be sure to sing we are the champions at the end and then say the names of all the member's of Queen at the end of that. hehehe, I probably will XD

I think either Argentina or Holland might win it.

Even if either of them do win it,i will sing We Are The Champions anyway.

I know. That's the major problem with Mexico. The team usually can get a hold of the ball, keep good possession, control the game's rythm, and generate several opportunities to score... and missing!

We beat Italy a few days ago, and now we struggle to tie the game with South Africa. I agree with Sir GH, South Africa could have won the game in the last minute, but that's the way soccer is.

France and Uruguay tied 0-0, so we're still pretty much in the game.

For some reason, the Mexican team plays better when they are against the odds and nobody thinks they can win. Hopefully, that will be the case against France.

I know!  It's not like it's hockey or anything... ;)

P.S.  Hope all you people enjoy the next few weeks and that the disappointments are kept to a minimum.  I don't even know what's going on, but I'm half Dutch so I pick Holland.  I guess. Go Holland!

Spain is the #1 favorite, but they usually drop the ball (no pun intended) in the World Cup. After them, there's Argentina, who has a great team DESPITE Maradona.
After those two I would put Holland, Brazil and maybe England and Italy.

Yes, I am watching the World Cup and Saw the first two games. I was surprised about how imprising South Africa was in the second half and the opening goal was amazing. The Past for Four years for France has been awful. In 2006, they started their EURO 2008 campaign and lost to Scotland twice and were unconvincing. France were a disaster at EUR0 2008. The World Cup Qualifying (lucky and cheated against Ireland). And what a surprise 0-0 against Uraguay and they performed badly.

I think Spain will win the world cup because they have such a fantastic team. However this year, there are so many candidates and it makes it impossble to predict who'll win the cup.

I Will be suporting ABE.

It's a campagain going on Scotland, Wales and Ireland aginst England winning the world cup. The Rest of the Great Britain is sick of hearing the press going on about 1966, ignoring the other teams and expecting to win it again.

And that's exactly it.  Soccer and music are probably the two things left in the world that bring people of all colours and races together.  It is much more than just a game, especially with South Africa hosting, considering their history.  This is at least on par with their rugby championship in 1995, the year after apartheid ended.  It was sport that united black and white people in the country for the first time.  Now they get to host an entire tournament and the whole world is watching.  Well, except for the US...

Quoting Stephen Colbert:

USA !  USA !  USA !

and then, we dump a gazillion barrels of oil on the UK players and zone during the second half.

Glad that the Brits don't have any green and yellow logos pasted on their jerseys..........otherwise, I'd be really mad.

In all honesty, I'm hoping for a tie of nil for tomorrow's game............both countries are stuck in neutral, with nothing to show for the past decade.

Bring home our troops!  We need you on the Gulf shoreline!

My parents decided to visit me this weekend. They are taking my wife and I out for a nice meal in an expensive resturant. They booked the table for 7.30. England kick off at 7.30.

Not happy.
