Hi Folks ,on the video for Bo Rhap during the opera section it shows John singing. Was this actually the case or did they just show John to balance the camera shot ? Also did John add his backing vocals to any other tracks? I also can't remember if Deacy added any backing vocals live or not.I can remember a interview with John saying how frustrated he was that he could not sing.Any ideas ?

It sounds odd, but I hear his voice in We Will Rock You. Maybe not that odd, considering that the crew also joined in the chorus (right?).

He doesn't sing in Boh Rhap, although he did sing live. Not always audible though, as his mic was turned low in volume for most occassions. Some exceptions are there however, for example Somebody To Love live at Earls Court 1977.

John: "It's the one thing I wish I could do - sing."

G'day all,

Well as far as I can figure, JD added live vocals to:
Keep Yourself Alive, Liar, Father to Son, Killer Queen, Flick of the Wrist, Now I'm Here (as per Rainbow, Nov 1974) In the Lap of the Gods...revisited, Tie Your Mother Down, Somebody to Love, We Will Rock You (slow), We are the Champions, not sure about this but I have a sneaking suspicion that he may have been on mic during Back Chat on 'Live at the Bowl', Radio Ga Ga, Hammer To Fall, One Vision and Friends Will be Friends. Most time however, it seem that the front of house mic, (perhaps not the monitor mic) was turned down or even off.

John certainly did add his vocals to "Bohemian Rhapsody".  It was actually done as a very good joke, when he added his background vocals to the studio version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" by the group Bad News.  It may have been Brian's idea as he produced the record.

John never sang on any Queen studio recording and was never aknowledged for this singing on any album sleeve. He did sing at concerts but most of the time his mic was turned down so you could barely hear him. There is an exeption at Earls Court in 1977 where you can hear him singing on In The Lap of the Gods..Revisited.
