I don't normally stoop to this sort of thing, but this is getting on my nerves.

Michael Jackson died a year ago today. This post has nothing to do with the man himself, whom I really have little to say about.

It seems like only yesterday that he died and there' a reason for that, BECAUSE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS HAS REMINDED US OF HIS LIFE AND DEATH FOR ALL 365 DAYS SINCE.

I'm sick of it.

I'm willing to bet others are too.

We can expect a few weeks of "One Year On" tributes, as if how the world could possibly keep existing Jackson-less is somehow news. I didn't care much when he was alive and I don't care much that he's dead. I just don't care. I don't. Really. Enough!

His legacy does not need daily media celebrating. It doesn't need annual celebrating. What the world and the media needs to do is MOVE ON, like the rest of us did a day or two after it happened.

Okay, rant over.

I don't see him on the news. If it annoys you, stop reading it and watching it. As simple as that.

(shrug)  I can't complain.  There was one hilarious article of some of his fans leaving flowers for him, crying and going on about how sad it was.

I finally succumbed and watched "This Is It" a couple of weeks ago.  While it would've been a great show/tour/whatever, I have to say it felt more like I was watching a dance rehearsal than a rehearsal for a musical concert.  I'm glad it wasn't all miming and that he still had some pipes left.

Ultimately I still can't bring myself to give much of a toss about the whole thing.    I was a lot more upset by Dio dying.

NO.

Seems he was pressured into "early retirement" by people after his assets.

The suggestion that he should "disappear" despite evidence suggesting plans, seems wrong. Justice for Mike oughta be considered, not just hyping and selling his product.

Administering surgical sedatives to an addict is not a health plan. 45 minutes without supervision...

seems like someone took a spotty doctor with massive debts, and turned him into a fall guy. Simple as that. Given his losses in solid $$ (but weighty assets, + the pending return of his entire catalogue of music to himself) and the scandals over releasing his album INVINCIBLE... *(pulling the plug in order to accrue the guy more debt)

seems that there ought to be MORE focus on the guy.

I was flipping through the channels last night and was lured by the irresistible siren's song of the program title of "Bubbles and Michael Jackson, The Untold Story" (or something close to that).  Bubbles is all grown up now and in a rescue habitat in Florida (I think it was Florida).  The end of the show featured LaToya popping in for a visit with him, which seemed to depress him--and her--even more.

i have a friend who has been inlove with michael jackson ever since i met her when i first started school and still she is inlove with him, and thats a long time. but before he died hearing news about michael jackson was like, wow, michael jackson is on the news, i must tell danni, then when he died i was like "WHAT?!?!? OMFG!!!! POOR DANNI, i bet she is realy upset right now" and i went to school that day and she was walking around school by herself with her head down crying, i felt so sorry for her, but after he died i was like oh more news about michael jackson, but now like 1 year later its like "OH FOR GOD SAKE, YES HE'S DEAD, WE KNOW, GEEEE" so yeah now it is pretty annoyin, but im not sayin its bad cus his fans like my friend danni are interested and if roger or brian or john died, all of us would be the same as danni, so for me michael jackson news is annoyin but for his fans then no, i'll just change the channel.

New Michael Jackson album due in November

If Michael Jackson  mania has faded in the 13 months since his death, get ready for it to begin again. Plans are in place for a new album from the Jackson vaults – a collection of unreleased songs, due in November.

According to Rolling Stone, the compilation will include 10 previously unreleased tracks, chosen from more than 100 songs that Jackson's former manager, Frank DiLeo, claims are in the archives. It's not clear whether the compilation will feature B-sides and out-takes, or if fans will be expected to pay for alternate versions of old hits. The first posthumous Michael Jackson album, last year's This Is It, interspersed his greatest hits with alternate mixes, a spoken-word track, and an unreleased song, co-written with Paul Anka.

DiLeo confirmed comments made by Tommy Mottola, former head of Sony Music, who said that Jackson had "over-recorded" for each of his albums by making 10 to 20 extra tracks, any of which "could have been as big a hit as the ones that came out". Jackson's estate has signed a $250m, seven-year deal to release this music through Sony Music, and DiLeo insists there's a little of everything, from Thriller out-takes to new tracks recorded with Will.I.Am and Akon. "There are a couple of songs we recorded for the Bad album that we had to cut that are just sensational," he said.

Last week, producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, who worked on Jackson's final studio album, confirmed that he was working on a posthumous Jackson collection. "It's definitely going to come," he told VladTV, "but it takes time. You got to do a lot of the red tape." It is unclear if this is the same compilation due in November.

Is that who John was dressed as during the IWTBF video?   Hope this doesn't spoil his birthday.

MJ news:  it's like Brett Favre at times.  Can't swing a dead cat without something popping up every 5 minutes, no matter how hard one tries to avoid the topic.

Just like now.
