Can you think of anybody who comes close to matching the musical style of Freddie?

Jake from scissors sisters is certainly flamboyant and very daring especially with what he was wearing at Glasbonbury!!!

Matt Bellamy maybe but he sounds too much like Bono for my liking and he does not have the stage prescence that Freddie had

Cant think of any others

Freddie is one of a kind

Well for awhile I loved Mika, because he kinda reminded me a little of young Freddie with the long shaggy hair.
His voice also had a unique tone like Freddie, but no-one could ever compete or come close to Mercury.

I soooooo agree with you!!!! :D :D :D

Freddie was not simply a genius; arguably the greatest male pop/soul/rock vocalist of all time, the greatest frontman of all time, among the greatest song-writers of all time, and a superb musician, but he was unique. There has never been anybody like him. Not then. Not now. The idea that people like Mika can be compared to him is absurd. Which mere mortal can be compared to a God?

I don't think mentioning someone like Mika is completely off.  Freddie was Freddie in part because of his personal charisma, irreverance and flourish. I think Mika in something like the Grace Kelly video is all of this.   There are people out there who have pieces of his brilliance, it's just hard to think of someone for whom it comes all together in precisely the way it did for Freddie.

I'd disagree with the Scissor Sisters guy.  Not the same vibe at all.
