How come in EVERY live performance I've heard, Freddie always forgets/makes up/changes lyrics?

It's quite funny!

Maybe he didn't like the song much.  That could make it harder to focus on committing it to memory well.  He's definintely said something to the effect of "sometimes we don't like each others songs, but we sing them anyway". It's definintely more stripped down and simple than was his own taste, if we may judge by his compositions.

/wild speculation off

Actually Freddie is on record saying he loved John's songs, because they tended to fall into the rhythm and blues and soul categories, of which he was very much a fan.

"Need Your Loving Tonight" is an unusual Pop song in some ways, as it's structure isn't the standard:

Verse
Chorus
Verse
Chorus
Middle Eight
Solo
Chorus
Verse
Chorus
Chorus

NYLT is more like:

Verse
Verse
Middle Eight
Verse
Chorus
Solo
Chorus
Verse
Chorus

It really doesn't follow the pattern 90% of pop songs follow. Of course there are variations, but NYLT really deviates by not even getting to the chorus until halfway through the song. It doesn't help that most of the Verses start the same way: "No I'll never look back in anger..."

Yep.  That makes more sense than what I said. :)  I really like most of John's songs too.

need your loving tonight... isnt that the song where the lyrics of one verse were missing on the sleeve?

Maybe thats the reason...

Yeah, why is part of the lyrics missing from the album's insert/booklet?

I've always wondered about that but never brought it up or see anybody else doing it.

It's like with those weird "soundwave" looking drawings in the Made In Heaven album. Anybody knows what that is? Has it ever been brought up in the forums or addressed by any band member?

Yeah, those soundwaves are visualisations of Freddie´s last breath. The recordings where made by Jim Hutton.

Maybe it's Freddie's voice saying "Pee pee".

I wish it was possible to reconstruct actual sound from analyzing a visual wave form :(

If I get a chance, I might take a look at the actual MIH waves in the theatre's sound booth (nice big screen in there, good for editing) and see if any match up to the images in the sleeve. They certainly look dynamic enough to be songs, though they could be anything.

It would be neat to say, "That one is 'It's A Beautiful Day'." This other one is 'Let Me Live'."
