From Queen Vault:

Living On My Own (Extended Version) 6:39
Written by Freddie Mercury
Appears on: The Solo Collection, UK Living On My Own 12" vinyl, UK Mr. Bad Guy CD
Released in the UK, this Extended Version stays true to the original, building off the original as most of the '80s remixes did. It retains the fun and bounciness of the album version while drawing out instrumental sections and reworking the whole thing. Very good overall.

Living On My Own (US Extended Version) 6:44
Written by Freddie Mercury
Appears on: US & Brazil Living On My Own 12" vinyl
Released in the US and Brazil in 1985, this Extended Version rebuilds the song very differently than its UK counterpart, but with just as much skill. It's a shame it was left off The Solo Collection boxed set, because it's really good. Worth hunting down and vastly superior to most of the later '90s remixes.

Basically, it's a different mix using the original elements, the way all the '80s Queen/Solo Extended Versions did. It's not a techno or synth remix like the '90s mixes were.
