Here is the complete share. Well what is on my discs. I added 2 bonus tracks, it are the Munich 78 songs from the videofeed. (watc en KYA) No linaege sorry. Part 1 : http://www.multiupload.com/GBJYNLZRIJ Part 2: http://www.multiupload.com/SQ9H0DM1GW If I remember correctly , and please correct me if I am wrong: in Greg Brooks his book he writes that Brian says to the people in Frankfurt at the festhalle that this is the biggest european audience they'd played for. If Greg is correct, and when I recal it correct : the Westfalanhalle wasn't sold out. Because the Festhalle hold 14000 the Westfalenhalle holds 16500. Here is info about the venue http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westfalenhallen

Indeed, this is what Brian said in Frankfurt (it's barely audible on a bad copy of the audience recording), but clearly he was wrong about this little fact. Thanks a lot for putting up the Dortmund recording.

Thanks a lot for putting up the Dortmund recording. Hi Bob, do you mean BM was wrong and the WESTFALENHALLE did sell out. Or do you mean that Gb was wrong in his book ? I always am interested i show attendands.... I wonder why the filled stadiums in Japan in 82, and did play the larger arena's again in 85 in japan.... Does anyone know the venue from sapporro in 82 ? Is the Festivallhall in Osaka in 79 really a venue which holds 2000 tendants ? Hardly to imagine isn;t it ? The dutch show promoter regrets doing a stadium concert in 86 , instead of 3 nights in Leiden...As stated in the dutch book of "voor queen en vaderland" Damn I always wondered why bands like the police did the Shea stadium.... Queen could have done it in 1980 I think... The Stoned happily inform that they filled only stadium in the 80's , that;'s quite easy because they only did 2 or 3 tours that decenium... Why was Queen called a band that pioneerd and invented STADIUM ROCK ? Arena rockers would be more suiteble I think. Guns n Roses exceded more ticketsales as Queen in only 5 years in their excistence.... why ? i know there is no comparrasion with this day... it was hard to distribute so many tickets without internet and countertickets... it was a other time.... This could be a intersting thread..

The venue from Sapporo is most likely Hokkaido Kosei Nenkin Kaikan. When you type "Hokkaidoritso Sangyo Kyoshinakaji" on Google, there are only pages with the 1982 Queen show. Bon Jovi and other bands played here at the same time as Queen. Of course, i might be wrong but there aren't any other concert halls listed in Sapporo at this time.

But come to think of it, I can't be sure unless someone confirms if the Dortmund show sold out or not. But the Westfalenhalle has a bigger capacity than the Festhalle, so if they both sold out, then Dortmund had the bigger audience. It's true, for most of their career Queen were arena rockers, not stadium rockers. They did stadiums in Japan in the 80s and Europe in 86, but they didn't do the stadiums in America. Even at their peak, they obviously felt they couldn't sell them out. Three nights at the Garden still wouldn't have filled Shea Stadium, so maybe they had a point. Interesting fact there about the Leiden 86 promoter. Speaking of which, the Groenoordhallen was just demolished this year. The Deutschlandhalle in Berlin is next. Sad to see all the old venues being torn down.

Hi ghostwithasmile, thanks for this! Cause this was the very first Queen concert I saw and also my very first big rock concert, that I attended. So it's fantastic to have it in this quality. My favorite of this show still is "Spread your wings" cause it was so impressive to stand in this huge crowd and everybody was singing along..... I can't confirm, whether the Westfalenhalle was sold out or not. This oval arena is also used for sports events. For rock concerts the seats behind the stage usually remain empty. So it may actually have been "sold out" - which does not mean that all possible seats were available that night.

It's funny. This recordings documents the same problems we still have on concerst these days. Some ladies are mourning that they can't see anything because they are to small. So they want the guys in front of them to let them stay in front of them. They are discussing a while. The girls also ask for "Jealousy" to play by the band. With headphones you think you are in the Westfalenhalle joining the show. Thanks again W.
