This is not a link...sorry fot the format. It's the only way I can see to get text on here with an iPad. Anyway, just wanted to say that my son saw it last night and he said he didn't want it to end. And he sees at least one or two movies a week, so that's pretty high praise.

Heh...that didn't even post as a link. So take note iPad users. You can post on the forum by using the hyperlink manager and just typing in the link text box with no URL speciified. Utter pain in the ass, but it's a workaround.

If you are indeed scared of snakes David, you'd definitely best stay away from this film! Some of the shots with the snakes might frighten the little youngsters too.

Anyways, me and my girlfriend went to see this on Friday. Very good film, as expected. There was definitely lots of action, and the pacing was so well done, the movie ended up feeling much shorter than 2.5 hours! I honestly doubt they could have fit the whole book into a 3 hour movie, they did a very good job by splitting it into two. And the split point at the end definitely sets the tone very well for the second part!

Until there's a scene where Hagrid uses Hermione as a cheap flesh torch, I'm not interested.

I saw the midnight showing of this with my 15-year-old. We were in line by 9:00pm and didn't get home until 3 in the morning. The long line was the exciting part.

We've seen all of the movies and she's read all of the books multiple times. All along, she's been enjoying, but felt disappointed in, the movies when compared to the books. All along, I've been able to keep track of what was going on in the movies while having never read the books.

This screenplay was definitely written with readers of the books in mind, not for those who have not read them. I was lost during much of this film except for where I applied some educated guesswork.

Having said that, I think the opening and deaths happened too fast - no room to absorb the emotional impact and no room to understand what specific event precipitated the attacks. After that, the scenes in the tent just dragged on. And on and on. There was so much they could have done with these characters who we've grown to care about. IMO, they failed royally and I was left feeling disinterested in Part 2. Too bad. After a decade with this story, I expected to leave the theater breathless and eager for that final installment.
