Hello, I seem to remember reading somewhere that John Miles appeared on the same night as Queen in the seventies. Have I imagined this or did it happen? If it did happen, then can anyone elaborate? Hoping for some good answers.

I thought he might have supported in 1976 but having looked through stuff, I can't find that he did. Similarly on the Jubilee tour - so no, to my knowledge.

He was supposed to play with Queen on August 20 and 21st 1976 in Edinburgh, Scotland.  Those shows were moved to September 1st and 2nd, I do not know if John Miles played those dates.

Hi All, just wanted to say thanks for replying. If people on this forum don't know, then it never happened as far as i am concerned. Must have imagined it. But, if you get chance check out John Miles back catalogue of music, there are some real gems in there. Also, he is a very underated guitarist as well as singer. Listened to the whole of Queen Boston 76 last night - fantastic!! 1976- what a great year, I remember it as though it was yesterday.

Don't know if that is old news for you, but John Miles did a Queen song last year in the regular "Night of the Proms" concert tour.

Here's a clip

I was at the concert in Edinburgh on the 1st september 76.  What a night that was, i,l never forget it.  I think John Miles
played on the first night of the shows.  It was organised by John Reid, Queen,s manager at the time.  It was to be the new place for all the big gigs at the time.  A host of stars played over the month or so, Billy Connelly, Elton, kkki Dee,
Ritchie Blackmore,s Rainbow amongst others .  Im not to sure who supported Queen on the 2nd night but on the 1st
it was a band called Supercharge, and they were a good laugh, i always remeber them taking the piss out of the Bay City Rollers, covering one of there songs, the lead singer was a huge bald guy called Albie Donnelly (i wonder what ever happned to them lol). I was lucky enough to see Queen seven times and the Edinburgh gig has got to be one of THEE best ever.   PS Regards the new Live At Wembley gig, i bought it along with the six cds that came out on the 5th
i watched the show from the first night and honestly thought it was excellent, but along with other Queen fans im still
waiting on Hyde Park 76, Errols Court 77 and Christmas Eve 75( which i heard from an interview with Rog on BBC
Breakfast) was supposed to coming out early 2010.  Iv never heard anything since and dont know why its been put on hold.  Michael Donnelly. x
