If you're fucked off with the constant shit product that pours out of Queen Productions, let them know directly.

Sick of yet another bloody Greatest Hits?

Sick of no decent fan club? (unless you're a bit retarded and like dressing up like Freddie).

Sick of "We Will Fuckin Rock You" shoved down your throat cos Brian's making up for Fred's time in the limelight?

Annoyed at "Queen + Five + Pepsi + Paul Rogers + Jedward + Robbie Idiotic Williams + Elaine Paige + Kerry Ellis"? And God knows what's next. Probably Susan Boyle and John Barrowman doing Under Pressure released as a Limited Edition CD with a bonus acapella  "Body Language". DVD version featuring Brian May "commentary" about Kerry's "brilliance" (i.e. her tits) and Roger scratching his considerable arse.

Re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-release. Cos all we can come up with is The Cosmos Laughs.

TELL THEM.  JIM, GARY, GREG and whatever other parasites that live off what was created by Freddie (Smile? give me a break.).

Write (as in pen on paper) or better still -TURN UP at the office on 14th March (the re-re-re-re-re-reissue date). They're more than likely to be getting pissed on YOUR money (obtained from the re-re-re-re-re-re-reissues) at the local piss-house but you can still post something or find them spending your money somewhere in St. Christophers Place.

I'll be there.

Everything Queen has done without Freddie has been mediocre. Even all that "save the fox" shit Brian likes to speak about. Sure it's cute that he wants to save the red fox, but why be so patronising about it? All this "save the planet" shit it just that, shit.

And why does he call his blog a soapbox? Sure it's a correct term, but why not call it a blog like everybody else? And what about the re-re-realeses which everybody is sick of? How much more can they manage to squeeze out of Freddie's talent?

And WTF is up with Roger? He's turned into a bloated cunt these past 6 years. Freddie called himself and the rest "four aging queens" back in 86... so what are they now? They must be in the fossil record by now.

Here's hoping that Sacha Baron Coen does a decent job.

"If you're fucked off with the constant shit product that pours out of Queen Productions, let them know directly."

Dont think I will bother. Thanks all the same. I dont think that would ever work anyway.

"Sick of yet another bloody Greatest Hits?"

Not really. Learned to ignore all that shit years ago.

"Sick of no decent fan club? (unless you're a bit retarded and like dressing up like Freddie)."

Why is dressing up like Freddie considered retarded? Some people (not me) do it for fun you know....

"Sick of "We Will Fuckin Rock You" shoved down your throat cos Brian's making up for Fred's time in the limelight?"

Again, not really. I can ignore the song. And the musical I would consider just a bit of silly fun if I ever went to see it.....

"Annoyed at "Queen + Five + Pepsi + Paul Rogers + Jedward + Robbie Idiotic Williams + Elaine Paige + Kerry Ellis"

Now this is something I nearly agree with you on with the exception of Paul Rodgers and some of Kerry Ellis' stuff....

"Re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-release. Cos all we can come up with is The Cosmos Laughs"

Same as before, if you dont like what they release then dont buy it - that would be more effective that sending a letter which will only be filed in the bin anyway.

Wake up !

Bands of that size were always like companies trying to make the big money. Whether it's the Beatles, The Stones or Queen and all the others.
Making money is part of the game. And they always re-invested lots of money. Do you believe that all those big concerts and tours you glorify today were for free and didn't cost a penny???

Sure it's boring to see all those GH albums in various forms again and again. But they are made for new audiences and those collectors, who buy everything. So no one needs to buy this stuff again and again.
If no one buys, they stop doing this.

Queen is no longer there for 20 (!) years. So for all the original fans it's over since then, you finally have to accept this.
And you should acknowledge, that May and Taylor managed to keep the Queen music and memory alive compared to most other of their contempararies, who just play "oldie nights" and "shopping malls" these days with sometimes just one original member left, in some cases just the bass player....

Yeah I don't know who the hell is running Queen Productions but they seriously need to wake up and smell the coffee. So far, the bonus tracks for the re-releases are the best thing I've seen in a few years from them. I don't understand why it is so hard to give us what we want? Why do they insist on keeping so much good quality and rare footage to themselves? What good does that do?

Problem with your idea, Soundfreak, is that you see QP as an "all or nothing" proposition.  Of course QP is a business, needs to make money etc.  However, everything that exists to make money (like a grocery store) exists to make money.  Grocery stores have loss leaders that are much cheaper than usual cost to get people interested in purchasing other products.  QP doesn't see that.  It's the same product all of the time at the same price.  No acknowledgement of long time customers.  Poor business model, and why a good number of fans don't give a shit about them anymore.  If you are saying they can't grow their fan base by releasing something other than recycled product at the same price with a new label I'll have to disagree with you.

I think I have a great idea for you.

Stick to your bootlegs (cut Brian's and Roger's songs of them) and Freddie's +John's
stuff and be happy!

It's been 20 years that Freddie has passed and there's nothing new for us to hear (or see).
Even not officially we already have everything this band could offer us. And I'm glad with it.
If you're not, just forget about this band and sell up your things on eBay - you'll make a lot of money,
that's for sure! I can't take the saint image that Freddie and John gained, one dying, the other
retiring. If was Freddie alive he would be the first one to run over the money. And John is doing
it without making any efforts. At least Brian and Roger wants to keep the name Queen alive.
And it's not a bad idea to bring new audiences along. That's the aim of new releases.

Old fans are done. And well done by the way.

I forgot to mention (splicksplack) that your anger towards QPL and Brian & Roger
reminds me of Mark Chapman. Gonna send a message to Brian May warning him.

@ notimeforlosers

The most recent case of David Richards "jumping out" with demos we never ever have heard of are the most "hard-to-beat-with" argument with that one that there's nothing new to hear. For each of the Queen albums (recording sessions) you must add ideas that never got completed, songs which were laid off because they didn't fit on the album and so on and so forth.

As to keeping Queen alive... hmm I cannot say things that Freddie would have done if he was still alive but I can hypothesize that yes he would try to earn but in a way... and I think way better than Brian & Roger & QPR. He always "cared for people" . He said it in the interviews with the whole band interviewed I don't know exactly - ca. 1984/85 - that people have their own mind and if they don't want their records, he will say goodbye.
Generally, it is good that Brian & Roger try to keep Queen alive but the way in which they do it is, hmm ... greedy.

As to writing to Brian. Well, honestly do u think he would give a bloody damn ?!
I wrote to him year ago , politely, without anger, generally what we-fans want on behalf of the Queenzone and guess what - did he reply, even said a word ? I even thanked him for his work, Queen music etc. and defended the archivist ( previous year he was being pretty good beaten up on Queenzon). No response. Not thank you or sth or even mail from his management that he has no time to read.

These days he is interested more in saving foxes, political stuff, astrophysics. Music is more like a hobby to him.
Do you think that the 40th Anniversary releases which are letting some good opinions onto this community are really effect of 40th anniv. and nothing else ?
Low sales of gigs with Paul, costs which they must have pay for renting stadiums , hardware, assistance, employees and MAYBE the word of Greg and Gary have blasted the doors to Brian's and Roger's mind that maybe if they will release sth that will got attention, it will change the way the wind blows ?

With their rererereleases Queen is going to be forgotten. There is necessity to present Freddie in his pride and glory to new generations. Which means demos, live gigs from 70's and 80's etc.

Amen.

The most important - Old fans are the most important, without them...think by yourself - how the building is going to stand without foundations ?

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

That's simply not true. They ain't forgotten, for a band that hasn't performed since the mid-80s they are still very popular and in very good memory. We have got a lot of live gigs on DVD from the 80s.
Demos do not impress younger or new audiences. They are interesting for hard fans who want to study how songs came to life, but they are unfinished stuff.
Or how some friend of mine once said to me when I showed him my collection of Beatles outtakes: You collect their garbage! Somehow I could not contradict......

Did the Freddie Mercury Box have any lasting effect? Do people ever mention how great his outtakes were?

Also I can only repeat it again and again, we got so many concerts and outtakes even available for free on this site....they even allow the exchange - unlike other famous bands. Try doing the same on an ABBA site and you will be surprised.....

We need to get a grip folks, looking at other big bands back catalouges most are worse than what we have.Pink Floyd,Genesis,Led Zep,The Who,Deep Purple and the like.A lot of these still just have the original CDS and very little remastering jobs or special editions availible. In Pink Floyds case 1994 was the last time that most of their catalouge was touched. At least we are going to be given the choice, stick with the orginals or have a shiny new remastered job!As for calling Roger a c---t i really dont think that belongs on this site !

Queenzone Hi dear friends, I rarely write about my discomfort floor with queen, but unfortunately I have to put that part of what we feel mistreated by Brian, Roger and John (indirectly involved) are doing to us.

And the truth is that members of Queen who are still alive, their fans are not important nor do they care if they do this or not like us.

I lei to one member who said that it seemed to him that Queen was making things better with these discs, and I tell her friend if you would like to buy 5 times the same album with different covers because they just bring a photo you or I or anyone you do not have there.

I do not spend money on more of the same as that seems like a mockery of all that is a serious fan or a fan concidero seriously.

I am a fan since I was 15, I am also a collector of Queen. I say this so I would not go to stupid as you like but do not buy something that I see things I think is a ridiculous because if you is not working and kept you do not mind the money but I if I care and enough for my money if it like everyone else in this forum

I for my part, these new discs to me in mp3 download because I do not think you give me money that Brian and Roger and they have plenty and all thanks to Freddie

sorry for my english I used translator

Hi

I've been a fan of Queen since about 7 years, and the truth if I'm very upset with the direction taken by the band ... either with the remastering of the same old thing.(Greatest Hits, Greatest Hits remaster, Greatest Hits Reloaded Version, etc)

But what makes me angry most is the unwillingness to launch some "crazy tour", they know that the fans would love to have new audio recordings of these concerts, or better yet, the concert at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1979 full And they do not, apologizing to the child pretext of "not having a stereo audio. "

I think all the users here would pay enough for these recordings and unreleased, but we clearly see that QueenProduction stayed behind with the new trends, and even thinksthat the bulk of the music that sells is the CD, when all the world now download music via the internet (Torrent, iTunes, or directly from the author's website as Radiohead)
