On may 31 Jim Beach was on Belgian tv giving an interview in 'Villa Vanthilt'.

He booked the dwarf for the party for launching 'Jazz' in New Orleans

It's funny how these rock'n roll stories get repeated and repeated again until even the people who were around start to believe them....
Peter Freestone and many other people over the years have denied that story. Why should they if it was true?
There may have been "dwarfs" booked for those weird parties but the cocaine story is too weird.

Exactly.

Peter Freestone began to work with Freddie and Queen in late 1979, during Crazy Tour.

Hmm... it is probably better pr to have the story circulate... the story wasnt really good press, but it did get attention.  Like the time Alice Cooper accidentally (allegedly accidentally)  threw a chicken into the audience and it was ripped apart.  The story that went out was that he bit its head off and drank its blood.  When his manager asked about it he said no he didnt, and the manager reportedly said 'well whatever you do, dont tell anyone you didnt do it!'  Sometimes the stories keep people talking, which is always a good thing for publicity!

i was watching an interview with brian and roger on bbc 1 on breakfast and they asked them the same questions but they said they said it wasnt true and that all they can remember was a dwarf whod lay down as a table and be covered in food but would look unrecognisable, like a table. and when someone went to pick somthing they fancyd off of him hed jiggle about and give 'em a shock, sounds funny but if the coccaine drawf IS true i aint that surprised because they DID look really nervous and uncomfortable once the question was bought up, lol

I saw that interview. I don't think he actually did admit it was truth..

The presenter started to ask him about a few party rumours, including that one, and he just dismissed it and told the story of the dwarf who "lay under meats" and jiggled around when people approached to eat. Same story as Roger gives every time he's asked about the cocaine dwarves. So I'd imagine that's all there is to it!

Just for the record catqueen, it wasn't Alice Cooper's manager that told him that it was Frank Zappa. Still a great story and the footage is crazy to watch if you've seen it. But the dwarf story with the coke was even denied by Peter Hince who was working with Queen long before Jim Beach. Anybody who ever attended a Queen party whether in the 70's or 80's has freely admitted to the goings on back in those days and all of them can't remember seeing that little guy with the blow. Had they seen it I'm sure we'd have a lot of people talking about it.

Most overtold, least interesting rock story out there. Not a Mars Bar, fish, or underwater Rolls Royce anywhere.

It's 100% true. And so are these.

There is an out-take from the 'Save Me' video in which Freddie catches the dove and bites it's head off.

If you play 'March of the Black Queen' backwards you can hear Brian reading passages from Mein Kampf.

Mass murderer, Peter Suthcliffe auditioned as bassist for the band but was pipped at the post by John Deacon.

Blockbusters host, Bob Holness played the sax solo on 'One Year of Love,

Roger Taylor choked to death on a ham sandwich in 1978 and was replaced by a look-a-like. There are clues in certain songs and on album covers.

Freddie was once rushed to hospital suffering from stomach pains. His stomach was pumped and they discovered 8 pints of frog spawn inside him.

Brian's ex-wife caught him naked in bed with Pete Townshend from The Who.

Oh! and he had a Curly-Wurly up his arse too.

Following Freddie's cremation, John Deacon snorted his ashes with cocaine.

Brian has a sense of humour.

fatty.

Actually, you're both right - Frank Zappa was Alice Cooper's manager at the time. Alice, being from Detroit city, threw the chicken back into the crowd because he thought, "It's got wings, it'll fly..."

As for the dwarf with the cocaine, Mark Blake's book "Is This the Real Life" includes a quote from Bob Mercer, who worked for EMI & flew to New Orleans especially for the party. He says this story is unture, and that as far as he knew, he was the only person there with any blow. Consequently, certain people kept tapping him on the shoulder & he'd have to take them to his hotel room...

So if there was a dwarf walking around with a bowl of cocaine on his head what were the guests expected to do, take a handful as he passed? stick a straw in and have a sniff.  In these days we live in i think to myself...a dwarf walking around with a bowl of cocaine on his head...so what?

I've heard the "bowls of cocaine" thing in the occasional interview with any given rock star or celebrity type. Then again, it does get brought up a lot and everyone relating to Queen who is asked the question usually takes their time answering, like they're hinting towards something.

I guess we'll never know for sure unless someone produces a legitimate photograph or video.
