Hi Squidgy,

Welcome to QZ and all that!  There are others on these boards with more knowledge about your questions than I, but yes you can download full concerts, rare tracks etc (which you will find in the 'Announce' section) and you can request particular shows in the (you guessed it) 'request' section. There is all kinds of stuff to explore, download and have fun with (video as well as audio) but the major proviso with all this is that concerts, rare tracks, video etc cannot be 'officially released Queen product'. I am sure you will find plenty of info on other parts of this website about what constitutes officially released Queen product, and other Queenzoners and the moderators will be able to provide you with plenty of info.

The downloads come in 'torrent' form and also from file-hosting services. To download torrents you will need a piece of software referred to as a 'torrent client'. The one I use is called uTorrent. This software enables you to download (or 'leech' to use the vernacular) from others (called 'seeders') who have the file. Once you have the complete file, you then become a seeder for others to leech from, if that makes sense. The idea is to leave your torrent client open (i.e. still running) as much as you can to enable others to leech from you. Your torrent download speed for a particular file at any given time will depend on how many seeders there are for that file, as well as how many leechers there are wanting it.

There are also downloads available via links to file hosting services such as Rapidshare, Megaupload, Mediafire and the like. If you have what is generally referred to as a 'Premium account' (one that you have a paid subscription to) you will download the files quickly and easily. For free users it takes longer, although generally you will get your download without too many problems. I have a Rapidshare Premium account and from memory it costs me about $27 AUD for three months, so it's not too bad. Some people love file-hosting services, some hate 'em. Like I said, others on these boards have far more knowledge about all this stuff than me, so anyone else reading this- feel free to correct me!

Anyway welcome, and I hope this info is helpful! And by the way, being a beginner does not make you stupid- all of us were beginners at some point!

Hi, all that seems rather difficult.  It's much easier going on youtube to gregsynthbootlegs channel.  He has almost every concert queen ever did.

So you're downloading from youtube?
You're not as stupid as you think you are then!

Go on. Bite the bullet and download stuff from here, whether that's download link or torrent. The quality will be better and  if nothing else, you'll feel proud of yourself at learning something new, and once you can do it here, you'll find a world of other download websites out there just waiting for you to love them :)

It truly isn't difficult, I felt the same way to begin with and now it's an absolute breeze and heaps of fun. There are lots of people here on QZ who can help.

You also need to download the winrar, oggcodecs, and vlc software to open the files and play the music and dvd files.  Just search for winrar, oggcodecs and vlc in the internet and you will be directed to their websites to download the free software.

ok, you download the utorrent program,do nothing else,(it doesnt even have to be up), Then go to 'Queen Concerts', Then go to the top right to 'downloads', Then pick a year, lets say..'1976', Then scroll to a concert that says FLAC (I've found this one works best) ..oh, almost forgot, this'll help you organize multipul concerts, 1) make a folder on your desktop, and call it the concert name you picked, (like,1976 LosAngelesForum)  2) Then pick your FLAC concert and double click it, 3)  Hit "save" the torrent (concert) to your 'LaForum76' folder.(its very quick, 3-4 seconds, thats all. Now that you've downloaded your torrent to your folder, NOW double click it, (looks like a small green icon) 4) When you double click on your small green torrent, a screen should appear (this will be the  "uTorrent" program that will download your concert,  5) Then pick save all, and you'll see it loading with a percentage next to it (usually, it starts right away, dont worry, a seeder will help you if needed,(somehow they know), (probably within 2 hours)  and thats not bad for free! (or you can purchase uTorrent); ::i havent yet, because 'free' is fast enough !  6) Finally, when 100% done, what I do, is, double clck on the completed concert, it'll show you15-20 FLAC files (each 1 is a song) ..(.NOW the puzzle, "HOW" to get the files to go to my pre-made file?,) ..simply drag them into your awaiting file.one at a time,  when all done, use CAN Winamp to record the cd, Thats what I do, Drag files that you want to put on 1 or 2 C.D.s (in numerical order is nice) and use winamp to burn your cd. THATS IT ! ..although seems complicated, I figured out ALL this with NO help at all ! And 60 cds later,it's NEVER gone wrong,  it ALWAYS works,  it's always free, I'm always satisfied.  I hope this helps, I WISH SOMEBODY HAD SPELLED  IT OUT FOR ME please try this, as its really a great way to save money, and get great music !(even works on other music sites,(Styx, Cooper, ect). just type in your search "FLAC concert downloads" (but not FLAC 24bit , that doesn't work) anybody have anything to add? did i forget anything? I'd say good luck, ..but you wont need any !   ...K. Simpson

Forgot to say that while you may find many versions of a concert in http://www.queenconcerts.com/collection/downloads.html,   you could look up http://www.queenlive.ca/ for information on which version is better.
