They plan to use an Infra-red signal to disable any recording you may try to do at music venues. Personally for me, this would be another reason to not buy any iPhones.

Just another sick idea by the control freaks at Apple. For any other company you would think it's a hoax but in case of Apple one can believe it.

I don't understand how people can voluntarily buy products from this horrible company - "we respect your privacy meaning we spy on you and track down your location without even telling you"

I have never even been tempted to buy iPhones, iPads and the like. As I said before this is just another reason to give it miss. The only point I can see regarding the "location tracker" thingy is if a kid gets lost, then that software could be useful. But why a company such as Apple would want to know your whereabouts is beyond me. That goes against my personal privacy rights. I would also be annoyed by the fact that Apple could control when I can and cannot record something.

Marketing, they create inferred obsoleteness (I think it’s called this, They change the design so people who see you with a product know it’s an old version) and do their best to make people without their products feel insecure, Claiming to be THE BEST in the field and making only their products compatible so you have to stay with their brand. It’s a wonderful world we live in where people care much more about appearance and being part of a majority opinion than anything else.

i can honestly say i have never brought into marketing, I have no face book, no twitter, No HD anything, a no brand Mp3 player which cost £30 and an old work mobile with 3 numbers on it.

I think people would completely flip out and revolt if anybody tried to block recording under whatever circumstance.  I can't imagine Apple could recover enough revenue from such a scheme to come close to what it would lose in sales and reputation.  I'd be extremely surprised if it ever happened.

The built in GPS and location services on the iPad/iPhone etc. are a genuinely fantastic feature in my opinion.   My family has used them a zillion times.  We 'find' each other for fun or out of necessity, we've located my son's lost phone at least three times, used it to get directions to places from our current location, and allowed countless apps to access our current location to provide excellent timely and relevant information.  We have to appreciate the vigilance of people who hold Apple's feet to the fire on privacy issues, but the technology and the applications themselves are are really fun and valuable.

It's a patent, people.  It doesn't mean it's happening -for sure-.  When it comes, then complain.
