Absolute Radio Create New & Exclusive QueenDocumentary Series - ‘Killer Queen

’Absolute Radio, in collaboration with award winning production company TBI Media, have designed and created an exclusive two part documentary for one of the greatest rock bands in history- Queen. The documentary series aptly named ‘Killer Queen’ is centralised around original content including interviews and commentary from Queen’s very own Brian May and Roger Taylor. They offer personal, detailed thoughts about twenty of their most successful songs. They talk about the context in which the songs were written, the way in which they were recorded and the effect they had on the lives of the band members, as well as looking at the music’s influence on bands today.

The personal stories are cut into two one hour documentaries accompanied by a rich mix of music, including the Queen songs in discussion as well as occasional additions of archive from the period in which the songs were produced. The documentaries will also feature contributions from contemporary musicians including Keane’s Tom Chaplin among others who have joined in to celebrate the band’s legacy and continued influence. Other notable contributors include Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics and comedian, actor and general Queen impresario- Rhys Thomas. The series will be broadcasted across Absolute Radio and digital sister stations Absolute 80s and Absolute Classic Rock with part one, airing on Monday 22th August from 8pm-9pm. Part two will follow on Tuesday 23rd August from 8pm-9pm.There will be a featured ‘Queen Week’ on Absolute Classic Rock with tracks from Queen’s studio albums played throughout the week to build the anticipation for the premiere of ‘Killer Queen’. ‘Queen Week’ will run from Monday 15th August- Friday 19th August.The documentaries will spearhead a wider ‘Queen Season’ across the Absolute Radio network. A bespoke splash page is being created at www.absoluteradio.co.uk which will host a ‘Queen Quiz’ set to go live between Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th August. Listeners will be directed to the page for their chance to win £500 cash plus top Queen related prizes. The station will then recount Queens iconic performance from 1985’s Live Aid at Wembley in a programme package entitled ‘Queen at Live Aid’. The special will include highlights from the performance with commentary from the likes of Brian May, Roger Taylor and Elton John. This will follow ‘Killer Queen’ on Absolute Radio, Absolute 80s and Absolute Classic Rock over the bank holiday weekend from Saturday 27th August.  The station is also working with the Mercury Phoenix Trust across ‘Queen Season’ on Absolute Radio. The charity established in Freddie’s name by fellow band members Brian May and Roger Taylor together with manager Jim Beach, was launched in 1992 with the hugely successful Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness. The charity has continued to engage in numerous other fundraising activities and since its inception in 1992 the organisation has been responsible for donating more than $15 million in the fight against AIDS with over 750 grants to charities worldwide.  Absolute Radio will celebrate their latest worldwide campaign - ‘Freddie For A Day’ on the 5th September. The day is a celebration of Freddie Mercury’s Birthday, his life and legacy and encourages fundraisers to raise money for the Mercury Phoenix Trust by donning the most famous moustache in music for a day. Absolute Radio and Absolute 80s listeners will be offered the chance to win tickets to a money can’t buy exclusive event at www.absoluteradio.co.uk. The ‘Freddie For A Day’ birthday party event at the Savoy London on September 5th 2011 will include drinks reception, three course meal and entertainment. In the spirit of the campaign entrants must submit a picture of themselves dressed as Freddie Mercury by the 31st August for their chance to win.

Gary, being a huge Queen fan, just like all we, can you please tell us
if we'll see any more concerts officially released on DVD in this
year?

Your old pal, Valery

Gary, is there any possibility it will be syndicated to radio stations in other countries?

That radio station streams content online so you can listen on the internet. Follow the link in the announcement and look for the Classic or 80's feed.  iPhone & iPad users can also used the TuneIn radio app to pick up the Classic feed and record the programs if desired.

You are being silly again, Anton.  Why talk about QOL here when there's already a thread about it elsewhere? You're gonna end up getting booted off again, use your head :)

Nuke the troll.  Enough catering to him.  He destroys nearly every thread he posts in, and all forms of logic and common decency have failed.

Ban the IP address.  There must be a way.

No, I think I'm with Sir GH and most everyone else that you annoy on here. Someone needs to straight up ban your ass with a quickness...you're annoying, you're rude, and I can safely say that Bob hit it on the nail when he said you destroy every thread you come into contact with.

Hey russian kid: if you have a little of dignity (do you know that word?)  please behave yourself! or at least leave us ALONE... (hey boy! you have a big di#$ in your ass, right?)

*sigh*

Who are you? Am I  molested to you ? What the hell are you writing me your love letters?  Have I  promised to go with you down the aisle? Sorry, pal, but you're not my taste, I like such man as Gary Taylor

I'm sorry, but did you really take my response to you as some kind of a come on to you? Ok...let's see here...

'Who are you?'

I'm just an ordinary guy...nobody special, but along with everyone else, I'm sick of you destroying every thread you come into contact with.

'Am I molested to you ?'

Eek...not sure what you're getting at there bud, but uh...yeah...maybe learning proper English might help you in your responses to people? Just saying here...

'What the hell are you writing me your love letters? Have I promised to go with you down the aisle?'

Let's see...last love letter I wrote was in high school many many years ago, and I don't go for dudes...sorry there homie...and no, I'm a happily unmarried single full-time parent, and knowing that there's people in the world like you, trust me, I'm realizing I'm alot better off that way.

'Sorry, pal, but you're not my taste'

That goes both ways...again, not into dudes...congrats that you're into 'such man as Gary Taylor', I don't know much about him, seems like a nice fella, but I'm almost confident he's not into dudes as well. Better luck next time there...

Stop feeding the troll.

Like every other troll, he will eventually go away.  Just follow that one simple rule.
