If the fabulous Freddie Mercury were still with us, this Sept. 5 he would have turned a still-young-by-rock-and-roll-standards 65.

So in honor of the auspicious date, his band Queen will be streaming their legendary “Queen Live at Wembley” concert for the first time ever, for a full 48-hour period that begins at 12 a.m. EST on Sept. 5. You can catch it at www.youtube/queenofficial.

The show dates back to July of 1986, when the group — a year after Live Aid — returned to London’s Wembley arena for two sold-out shows, back to back. The 21-song set opens with “One Vision,” rumbles right into “Tie Your Mother Down,” and closes with “We Are The Champions” and “God Save The Queen.”

Guitarist Brian May had this to say about the event:

“The Wembley concerts were the pinnacle for us. We were at our height, band-wise, and Freddie had developed this phenomenal way of dealing with stadium audiences. Being back home in London and playing two sell-out nights was such a big, big occasion for us. None of us realized that this would be almost the last time we would play together.”

Mercury passed away Nov. 24, 1991, and his influence is still reverberating through rockdom to this very day. Catch him in all his outrageous glory via this Wembley streaming.

I guess they won't stream the Friday show, as there would be no point in buying the release....
They aren't THAT generous.
