....I bought the first five remasters straight away. then bought News of the World from the second batch and just bought Innuendo. I am going to get all the others eventually but will wait until the HMV sale. I also bought Star Wars Blu Ray. I can't wait for this year to end, I have spent a fortune on things I have already got!!!

Incidentially the 'bonus' disc is ok. I love Innuendo as an album so this was always my first choice from the last batch but I thought these bonus tracks were slightly more interesting than the others. Ride the Wild Wind with Rog on vocals is very good, Headlong sounds ok, just don't think Brians voice is very strong. IGSM is good, lots of weird jingles added, ICLWY got already. Lost Opportunity got already, unfortunately. Its a bit dull......

I'm jealous.  We won't see the final remasters here in the USA until (at least ) November 1st.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr...

what's the sound like for 2011 Edition of Innuendo, and how does it compare to the original release?

Hi malicedoom  could you please tell me regarding the new editions from USA which colour The game cover has?. I have the HR 1991 version and the cover quality is the BEST. IS similar to HR 1991?.

Thanks!

I'm sorry but I have not purchased The Game USA remaster yet, so I'm not sure.

I tried looking it up on Amazon.com but they do not seem to have that listed by itself unfortunately.

Doubt that will happen - they only went on sale the last time because HMV bought so many thinking they'd be popular, and then couldn't get rid of.  When they have bulk, they can put on sale.  This time, they learned the lesson, and only took just enough to cover the sales of the last batch.  When they only have "base" stock, they cannot let it go for under their guide price (which 9/10 times is RRP lol). Plus they have tonnes of financial issues at the moment, and are lucky to still be trading.  I hate them anyway, worked with them for a while :(

I always found the original release to be a bit "flat". Even the band admit they had mixing problems with it, which may also explain why Roger's drum track is missing from I Can't Live With You and replaced by a drum machine.

The new Remaster is a bit hit and miss. There's definately new life breathed into the album, but the results vary wildly.
Some tracks are just incredible :0

Oh, and No, It's NOT because it's louder....

Can you name a few off hand?  I'd like to do some A/B comparisons, but I don't have the time to do it for the entire Queen catalog :-)

Are there any albums that are truly worth getting?  Even compared to the 2001 Japanese remasters?  I've found those to be the best so far.  At least for Queen II through The Game..

Does that mean I will have to pay the full amount for them all?? Not happy but just have to get them. Yes even The Works which contains 'bonus' disc contains all tracks I already have.......boo

@ Bob -

I found News Of The World and Innuendo to be the most improved.  The best version of Innuendo to my ears was Japan 2001, and even that I wasn't overly impressed with, but this 2011 remaster is clean and clear, powerful, and well-balanced EQ like never before...

Drum machine used on  I Can't Live With You?  Really?

Never knew that.  I guess that's probably one of the reasons they remixed it (with new HUGE POUNDING DRUMS) on the Queen Rocks release then, eh?

Makes sense now.

The Innuendo 2011 remaster is pretty impressive, Bob. It already starts with the intro of Innuendo, the song. Lots of bottom end makes it a great start. In fact, the whole album has more bottom end, so John can be heard pretty well in for example IGSM. The drum track of I Can't Live With You sounds impeccably clear. Freddie's vocals in Don't Try So Hard sound very clear and powerful. The bass in Ride The Wild Wind is just...wow. The list goes on.

The only song which I still find a bit messy is Headlong. Not their best track in terms of production. The drums of the Embryo version sound much better somehow.

The only remasters I have bought are Innuendo & The Miracle, from the previews via Itunes. They are both a much needed improvement on the 1989 & 1991 originals. I don't think I'll be going through every album, I may invest in Jazz as some friends say that too is a big improvement. To my ears there isn't any specific tracks which stand out just the whole package.
