Hello everyone,

I uploaded Japanese TV program "SONGS" in this July.
I recorded the program with Blu-ray Disc Recorder.
When I uploaded it here, I converted into DVD-video format.
This time, I converted the original recording into BDAV format to keep Blu-ray quality.

My original topic (DVD-video format) is here :
http://www.queenzone.com/forums/1276610/announce-songs-vol-181-queen-japanese-tv-broadcast.aspx

Technical information :
Region Code - A (East Asia (except Mainland China and Mongolia), Southeast Asia, the Americas and their dependencies)

VIDEO
Type: MPEG2-TS
Video Coding Mode : MPEG2
Bitrate: 13.04 Mbps
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Resolution: 1920×1080
Frame Rate : 29.00 fps

AUDIO
Audio Coding Mode : AAC
Sampling Rate : 48kHz
Audio Channel : 2.0
Bitrate: 255 Kbps

Total running time: 30:01
File size: 2.74 GB

Lineage :
TV broadcast > Panasonic Blu-ray Disc Recorder DMR-BWT500 > BD-RE > PC > DVDFab Passkey Lite > BDAV
Torrent created using Trader's Little Helper

When I ripped using DVDFab Passkey Lite, I chose Region Code - A.
Therefore I don't know whether you can watch this BDAV in areas of Region Code - B (Africa, Southwest Asia, Europe (except Russia), Oceania and their dependencies) and Region Code - C (Central Asia, East Asia (Mainland China and Mongolia only), South Asia, central Eurasia and their dependencies).
If you can't watch this in the area where you live, please let me know.
I try to choose other region and rip again.

Enjoy everyone.
Masahiko

Thank You Masahiko.
HD is the way to go! :)

Do you have a Bluray Reader in your PC?
Is that how you transferred the file from disc? I just didn't expect it to be an mpeg2 file that's all.

No need to worry about region coding so much. That type of information should not be present on the m2ts file (which is the multiplexed video and audio file for those that don't know), so if it's a problem for anyone, all they need to do is keep the m2ts and play that back on their PC.

My info is wrong.
The correct info is the above.
There is a m2ts file in STREAM folder in BDAV folder in my torrent file.

About region code....
I see.
I was relieved not to have to worry about it

Thank You Masahiko for sharing this.
Just one question:
Im thinking on getting a Panasonic bluray recorder but I would like to know if these recorders can record from non HD sources into Bluray disc directly in 1080p
I would love to transfer my big VHS tapes collection and laserdiscs directly to Bluray  discs, not into DVD.
I would really thanks you for your answer beforehand.
Cheers
Cesar

Hi Cesar,

Panasonic blu-ray recorders are very superior performance.
However, probably I think they don't have the function to convert SD pictures (640*489 pixel) into HD pictures (1280*720 or 1920*1080 pixel).
If you want to extend the size of a picture, I recommend you use a up converter.
(It takes effort to use it, and the effect you expect doesn't seem to be provided.)

Problems with sound.
On Windows Media classic, VLC player, Media player classic - silent picture, manually set the sound, sound and picture desync.
When I converted it in DVD, no sound at all, silent picture ((

If  you want to convert DVD in earnest, I recommend you use "Adobe After Effects CS5" + "Magic Bullet Instant HD".
(I don't confirm the effect. And it's very expensive!)

I found a blu-ray disc drive upscaling playing and recording is possible in Buffalo website.
(BR-H1016SU2)
I recommend this one.

Hi father brown,
Audio Coding Mode of this video is AAC.
I think Windows doesn't have codecs for AAC playing.
You need install them in your PC.

Transferring to a blank blu-ray will NEVER improve the quality, at best it will retain the quality of the original source, although remember you are going from an analog source to a digital one so that will make a difference too.

I have been pondering for years of transferring all my VHS Queen material to DVD (as I have a DVD recorder) but never got round to it.

I used to buy all the hits video's and concerts on DVD, it's a shame they don't release these on blu-ray.

Can someone seed this please
