Hey folks. Long time no see :)

I couldn't think of a better place to post my own remix/edit of DSMN for the Talenthouse contest. So, here it is:

Imdur's Good Time Mix

I tried to keep to the track's feel with only minor detours now and again :P Let me know what you think and I'd really appreciate a vote here and there.

Cheers,
Adam.

P.s. I didn't bother altering the sound of the track. Good decision?

Anything else feel a bit miffed that there are some shocking mixes getting votes? [/img]

The procedure to get into the next round is very questionable imo - I already criticized that in previous competitions. Actually, you need to mobilize your facebook friends to vote for you. I really like your mix, it is outstanding and if you do not have a fb account, I will recommend it on the Queenzone facebook page.If you want to have a chance you have to go that way - unfortunately.

I agree, as I said elsewhere on here.  There are some good mixes not getting a look in because the person doesn't have the social networks advantage, and some truly awful mixes getting lots of votes, because those people do.

I entered this competition thinking my mix would be judged on it's merits, not how many "friends" I could cajole into voting for me.  I didn't necessarily expect to win, but it's very disappointing that I probably won't get through to the next round due to lack of votes.

Wait....there's a next round?? I thought there were two things in play:

1. Brian and Roger will have a look at some potential winners (possibly selected by Kris and Justin) and...

2. The one with the most votes wins the public choice bit, but is separate from the main prize.

Hmm...I did not see this. Silly me for not keeping a zillion friends to vote for me! I think it's time to call on my Fiancee's facebook friends! Fickle, it would be a damn shame if you didn't get through coz I like your mix, too.

If what you're both saying is true, it is a bit of a farce and I don't look forward to the result. However, I still hold hope that they would want something a bit more to their (Bri n Rog's) liking to release.

I think there is no 2nd round... I mean the 2nd round could be voting by the judges. I think for us, participants, 21 December is the end of the competition. Am I right? Can anyone confirm my thought?

I think you are right. However, as far as I know the winner will be picked from the 50 competitors who received the most votes on facebook and twitter. At least that was how it was handled in previous competitions. It is obvious that people who do not use the social networks much are in a very bad position. People usually vote for participants they know even if they do not even listen to the mixes! Personally, I think this is a very bad system but if you want to win you just have to mobilize your friends and try to make it to the top 50.

That's pretty much what I thought as well, PiotreQ. Main prize, 2nd prize and public voting prize. Nothing about a 2nd round of voting, etc. I'm sure I saw it all detailed on their website before. Can't find it now.
