This is a mix I did a few years back - I always hated the jarring edits in the original 12" version, so attempted to make this sound like a complete track, rather than three different ones stitched together. The original studio edits have been smoothed over, and the whole thing re-equalised to sound more consistent throughout. http://www.mediafire.com/?co6dcppyybvjbdm

Just like you said in other thread, there are many bad edits in those 12" versions. Even in Scandal 12" (which I love) I hate when comes up the standard version there. For me It sounds too narrow than the 12" one and that transition is really annoying. As for this HTF remix, it sounds much better. I was wondering what would it be if you interchange the channels at the final part where the guitar solo is. I mean, in the original version the hi-hat is on the right side channel but when the transition comes in, you hear it on the left one (not in 100% of course). Maybe it would be a solution to make those edits even smoother, just a thought :-)

Can't say I've ever noticed that, Piotre - well spotted! I'll have a look at that sometime. :)

I hate the "1991 Hollywood Records Remixes", too :P. They are not Queen.

The 12" versions are not Hollywood Remixes, these are two different things. But if we talk about them, they are more Queen than lots of other ones to be honest.

I agree, I love it too. I just hate those transitions in several 12" versions. I would remix the whole thing from the beginning to the end instead of putting the standard version in there.

I never tried Scandal, as I didn't really like the track anyway, but from what I recall, there wasn't enough of the good sounding parts to make up a complete version. I think it's very lazy of whoever was responsible for these mixes, to just shove the standard version in, and only do half a remix, but it seems to have been QPL's policy all along to get away with doing the bare minimum, knowing fans will still buy it anyway.

In fact I said : I hate the "1991 Hollywood Records Remixes" , too. I know the differences between the 12" and the "1991 HR Remixes", and I prefer the 12". The next time read to my posts more carefully, please. Thank you.

LOVE IT, FICKLE! It explodes of power at the begining and continues till the end ending with that boom!!! The changes between songs always will be noticeable (a thing that I really hate too), the main difference is on the drums, the mechanical snare of The Works disappears when the 12" part starts and the volume is raised a lot, so it's very difficult to repair that, but I really like how it worked on your song! Somtimes I start to think how a perfectionist band like Queen (I mean the '71 to '91 Queen) would release that kind of failed mixes, an album with the poor sound of Jazz, the over-equalization on Innuendo Freddie's voice, or even the bad video quality of some concerts.

Love it. The ending is much better than the original, which I never really liked.
