Which of these two songs, in your opinion, are the best on Queens first album? Any other choices are accepted.
My choice - Son And Daughter, because of the intro, and the power in the song alone, sure, Liar is 6 minutes long and is nearly considered by every critic to be the best song on the album, but why not show appreciation for more than just Liar?

P.S - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4K1vZFcBC20&feature=related How does that not sound amazing?

Well, if Mad The Swine counts, it'd be that. But Liar, Great King Rat and Jesus are amazing.

Tough one. I pretty much like the entire album from start to finish, including "Mad The Swine."

If I had to pick, maybe "Keep Yourself Alive." Punchy, fun, optimistic and it deserved to be a hit.

Slightly off topic, but I'd love to hear this album (and all the albums, really) in 5.1 Surround.

Hands down, the best song on the album is My Fairy King. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it.

It is the beginning of Mercury's progression to creating Bohemian Rhapsody.

Son and Daughter is my favorite track from the first album. Amazing vocals, guitars, etc. The BBC version is also great.

My Fairy King, definitely. One of the best songs they ever did. Certainly in my top 5, not that i have a chart.

Well, out of the two I'll go with Son And Daughter. The early live versions are particularly powerful, with the Brighton Rock solo and then the triumphant and smooth return into the crushing main riff.

Out of all of Queen I, I think My Fairy King is the one I like the most. Doing All Right has some beautiful vocal harmonies though (the 'aaah' at the end of the metal section).

The Night Comes Down is an exceptional song and one of my Queen favourites . My Fairy King is ground breaking and very Queen -organic. Liar shades it from the original question.
