Well, reading the comments on youtube videos from the gig of yesterday,
I can tell Adam Lambert has the most deluded fanbase in the whole world.

Man, they are saying Queen is more famous now because of Lambert. Such a big joke.
I blame Brian and Roger for picking up this guy.
I'm glad they're having fun and everybody knows this is their life,
but is an awful exposure to Queen hearing such bollocks as this.

Why are you even reading those? Are you really bored or something?

My philosophy with music is that you really have to keep going and try to do better than the last time, always.

Still, it might do some of these kids a favour if they see their idol dropped on his arse. Shatter some illusions they have about the world.

GF, I also theorize that the intensity of the fan fervor is due in part to the immediacy and quantity of media and info available. We can watch Youtubes of all performances soon after they happen. Ditto with interviews, magazine articles and photos.. Twitter allows the artist to communicate directly with fans and Adam utilizes this tool well. There is a never-ending supply of "Adam" daily to feed and fuel our obsessive addiction. I believe Adam also has been gifted with an exceptional ability to connect deeply with fans much like Oprah. Coincidentally, they share the same birthday. Oh. And he is cute.

of course this is a hilarious statement, in the eyes of a queen-fan.

but it's nice to see that queen keeps up their legacy for the young folks.
if they didn't know queen (or their work) before, it should be ok... as long as they get in touch with good music - who cares what they say ?

Personally I find it disgusting that a load of Adam Lambert fans now think they "own" Queen's artistic license and know what's best for Queen despite the fact most of em probably didnt have a clue who Queen were before they showed up on that Idol show.

Ive been lectured on Youtube by a bunch of Adam Lambert fans telling me what Queen and Freddie would want and what is best.

You mean in the Adam Lambert fanbase thread or QZ in general? I posted this once before but, again, I came here out of curiosity because I hard there was a lot of Adam bashing going on and was appalled at what was being said here. I went into defense mode and thought that once Adam performed some would admit his obvious talent. I agree that he isn't a perfect fit for Queen but am amazed at the differences in opinion between the two fanbases regarding his talent. Now I post here because I like talking all things Adam and I get a different viewpoint than on the AL fan board. Also, I Iike debating with Grateful Fan and enjoy reading Zebonka's wry posts.

I respect your opinion and I meant QZ in general.
I don't like his rendition of Queen's songs. There's a frilliness to his voice that doesn't capture the rock essence that Queen's songs had. It's hard
to put into words, but if you ever saw Freddie live or on DVD you will understand. Anyway, it's not really about Adam, I just don't like Queen+whoever collaborations because without Freddie AND JOHN, it's not Queen. They look pathetic to me ...

p.s. I love Zebonka,I've been a fan for years!
