After seeing Queen Extravaganza and seeing Queen with Adam Lambert it is obvious that after these dates are over with, that Queen should take Jeff Scott Soto & Marc Martel as co-lead singers. JSS does the heavier numbers and Marc does the rest. The duo would be perfect and would completely blow audiences away...unlike Adam Lambert. I even tried to defend AL on here, but after seeing JSS and Martel, this is EXACTLY what Queen should do. Take a final world tour over 2 years and finish on a high, instead of a screeching amateur who screams at people to shake their fat asses, over and over and over. Did I mention he screeches about shaking your fat asses over and over? I'm sure that anyone who saw Extravaganza would agree-ish.

So you want Freddie impersonators fronting Queen? You want Queen to turn into their own tribute band and a parody of itself? Wonderful. What a true Queen (not to mention Freddie) fan you must be!

Funnily enough you don't seem to have the same longing for Espinosa. Is it because she is female and you want 'Boots advert bloke' Martel and 'Beauty and the Beast' reject Soto for reasons best known to your groin? Though, if that is the case, I would suggest an urgent appointment with your nearest optician. Visually, they are about as appealing as cold custard on week old suet pudding.

Espinosa was hired to sing the high parts of Freddie's vocals that one song pony Martel and frankly ridiculously inadequate Soto can't, whilst ADAM LAMBERT CAN SING THE WHOLE RANGE AND GAMET OF FREDDIE'S WORK.

The desperate duo would blow audiences away UNLIKE ADAM LAMBERT? What shows exactly have you been watching footage of or reading reaction to? Reaction, that is, from genuine QUEEN fans. Not those trying (and failing) to pass themselves off as Queen fans but who are merely rabid fans of two mimicking micros who most genuine Queen (and particularly Freddie) fans think surpass the limits of ridiculousness for which there is vocabulary.

A screeching amateur? Wow! That really makes your argument credible, doesn't it? I'm sure Brian and Roger WILL take note.

A "screeching amateur" who is hailed by the great and good of the industry as one of the greatest voices ever, if not THE greatest, and the only singer alive who can match Freddie's range and power (and pair that with stage presence and performance skills) who has platinum albums and singles internationally and a recent Billboard #1 album? Well, well, well, what an amateur!!! What are Martel's and Soto's professional credentials' eh? Pray tell. Impersonating Freddie Mercury and impersonating him limitedly?

That is the stupidest thing. They're not even great at what they do. Simply the best of the piss poor offerings who auditioned. Gary Mullen kicks their wobbbly arses into the next galaxy but, as a Freddie and Queen fan, I wouldn't want him fronting the band either because a Freddie impersonator, albeit a fantastic one, is all he is.

So Adam "screeches" (though I have no idea how speaking can be remotely called screeching) about fat asses over and over? He asks the question once, either before or after 'Fat Bottomed Girls'. Hugely appropriate and well judged and a marker to the star with audience awareness that he is as opposed to a scripted tribute act.

Still, at least you're showing yourself for what you really are - a Martel and/or Soto fan - who tries to appear neutral and reasonable by promoting both and by having damned Adam Lambert with feint praise in the past.

Try harder. The average three year old can see through your posts, just the same as they can see through the fact 99% of the anti-Lambert posts around the web are from fans of these two pointless pansies, fans of other AI and talent show contestants or merely Lambert haters in general.

Still, why should anyone expect anyone who would pay big bucks to see a tribute act instead of the real thing to have a spare brain cell to rub?

What Brian and Roger should do is respond to the copious requests from fans who've seen the shows with Lambert so far on Youtube to take the Q&AL show to America, the Antipodes and the Far East. The world wants to see the dream team and the best Queen show since Freddie.

Take Martel and JSS? Yes, please, do take them as far away as possible, never to tarnish Freddie's legacy and memory again.

Now go back to the Extravaganza site where you belong.

"The world wants to see the dream team and the best Queen show since Freddie"

Queen Extravaganza beat them to it by a few weeks. Honestly, if I was going to pay money for a Queen show, I'd want someone who doesn't sound like he's been on Idol.

That's good. Zebonka12, because Adam Lambert far from sounds as if he's been on Idol or any other talent show for that matter, and certainly not on one to find a Freddie Mercury impersonator. ROFLMFAO at anyone thinking or suggesting with a straight face and expecting to be taken seriously that the best of a dire bunch of contestants in a tacky soundalike contest are more acceptable.

Queen Extravaganza the best Queen show since Freddie? It's not even the best Queen tribute show around. You, however, have just made the best joke I've read for a long time. So far, it's played in the US and there is little demand for it elsewhere. In countries where dates have been set, tickets aren't selling well. Partly because in most other parts of the world outside America, tribute acts are seen as the sort of thing that your granddad goes to and take place in small local venues, and partly because word has got around that it needs three vocally limited singers (including one female) to do one man's job and has subsequently become a subject of ridicule.

Carry on though and please do pursue that career in comedy, Zebonka12.

Vela,
A child is someone that gets upset when someone doesn't like the same singer they do.
Quite amazing how you know what a genuine fan is. I wish I had your great powers. Your feelings sure sound hurt by the fact that I have a different opinion. My opinion is that the current choice is a disappointment. I defended him until I saw him. I guess it is so easy to be tough as an anonymous in the internet.

Thank you, though. Knowing I upset you actually made me laugh. I couldn't actually make it through your childish post. And for the record, Martel and JSS don't impersonate Freddie. Unlike your precious little screeching Lambert, JSS and Martel had some professionalism on stage.

Vela,  I'm no Adam fan or hater, but I think he'd be pretty embarrassed by your post.  Like most of his fans beating everyone over the head on the internet.  Dial it back girl. WTF did he ever do to get the most obnoxious fans?

I think he did a decent job on some of the songs.  But going on a Queen board and acting like he's gonna ever be as good as Freddie, yeah, you deserve the posts you're going to get.  LOL.

If they are going to hire some impersonator, then I suggest Pablo Paladin from Dios salve a la Reina which is a lot better than Martel and looks a lot like Freddie (that singer just need a fake mustache and that's it)

What Roger and Brian are doing (with different levels of success or fail) is to take Queen+ to a different level and avoid comparisons between Freddie (Queen) and the singers on recent line ups (Queen+) using singers with real personality. People may love or hate Adam, Tom Chaplin, Paul, Jeff Scott, Robbie, George Michael, Elton etc, but (with the exception of that boyband "5ive") each one of them have a strong personality on stage... And Im very happy with the Q+ experiments... And even enjoy Q+AL.

Freddie was not only a singer, but an amazing musician, producer, showman, writer etc... I cant see what's the point to replace the real freddie with a fake one...?

I was going to respond to contents of Vela's post but I realized the idiocy of it is so self-evident that there's no need to point it out.

I will say that while I don't think AL is the savior of modern music that his fans do, I did like him on Idol, enjoyed most of the Kiev concert, and had no issues with the Q+AL project -- if the concerts can sell tickets and the people who go have a good time, that's all that matters.

But so many of AL's fans are so obnoxious that more and more I'm finding it hard to keep my utter disdain for them from turning into a hatred of AL. He seems like a okay guy -- Brian and Roger like him. Why does he then attract so many crazily insecure fans? And it's got to be insecurity because if they actually believed that AL is as good as they say he is, then they should be confident enough to let his talent speak for itself.

I'm a QE fan and QE has its share of detractors too, but I don't feel the need to defend it against everyone who slags it off because the talents of Martel, Soto and the rest are enough to win people over without my help. And the people they don't win over? Well, you can't please everyone, vive la difference, etc.

Glamberts, please try to get some perspective. I am seeing people who disliked the Q+AL project admit that it's not as bad as they thought, and that AL is getting better with each concert. Why don't you spend your time here celebrating his success with the people who are enjoying the concerts instead of wasting time with the frankly impossible task of convincing the people who hate AL's voice that they should love it as much as you do.

In what other countries have dates for QE been set? Because on YouTube and elsewhere, I'm seeing a lot of people outside North America asking about if QE will be coming to their countries. (I'm also seeing people in North America asking when they will be coming back on a new tour.) I have been telling them that QE is just in North America for now. If I'm wrong, I'd like to give them the good news. :-)

Vela, the dude evidently has seen QE, and you seem to have not, so stop acting like you have more authority on that topic.

Martel and Soto both have musical careers; they haven't spent their entire musical careers impersonating Freddie, they just do a good job with his music.

I-DON'T-GIVE-A-FUCK-ABOUT-ADAM-LAMBERT'S-FUCKING-RANGE! It's his voice that really matters, not if he can hit the notes. In my opinion, Martel and Soto's voices both work better with Queen's music than Lambert.

Are you sure that Jennifer was hired to sing high notes? A lot of what she sings is actually pretty low (In the Lap of the Gods, Another One Bites the Dust). This just shows how little you know about the QE show.

I've said this once already: you have no authority to decide if someone's a real Queen fan or not.

I believe that's all I have to say. I can't believe I even read your entire stupid post.

Adam can't even hit some of the high notes correctly anyway (like hitting them completely off key or having uncontrolled vibrato mess up his intonation).

I still find it hilarious that even though Freddie wasn't a trained singer, his vibrato control was awesome--then you have Adam with all this vocal training and he can't keep in key or keep his vibrato under control.

I'd rather have Freddie (or some other singer singing his songs), dodge some higher notes yet KEEP the tone intact and have GOOD intonation, rather than someone who attempts all the higher notes, but fails.

True. From what I remember, it's Yvan or Marc that do all the high parts in songs. Roger said in an interview that one of the reasons he picked Jennifer is that she has a really low voice for a woman.

Jennifer has a pretty strong low register (her 3rd octave notes were strong on Dust)!
