"Of our main product releases this year, you now have all the info for the September ones, I see Barcelona as the main release and the book and DVD off shoots as it were, but I can see why people thought otherwise. OK, you know that Budapest is coming too (the cinema release is part of the promo will come with a PR next week about the viewings, but not product info)"

I find the following bit intriguing:
"the cinema release is part of the promo"

Could it be that the Cinema edit is just the old VHS edit while the eventual Blu Ray release will be a new edit with the bits cut out of the original edit now included??

I really hope so. Budapest '86 is a mind-blowing show and complete in high definition it would be - imho of course - one of the very best concert films ever.

No, to me that reads that they're going to announce it is hitting the cinemas but no details yet about a take home release.

I wonder if it's going to be in 3D?

I hope there is a home release and it's not like Hammersmith, never to be heard of again.

As for a full version, we'll have to see. I'm not holding my breath that it exists.

Really ? Am I really the only one who thinks that 3D is a big leap backwards ?

No your not.

The last thing I need watching a movie are the darker and blurrier image and ridiculous glasses weighing on my face...

Well, you can always disable the 3D image and watch the regular show in HD. I see no harm done in adding the 3D component.

also agree... no idea why 3D is popular again, and it definitely has NO place on a classic Queen concert film...

I wont buy this.. the Budapest gig looked and sounded awful on VHS, plus the Magic Tour is bordering on boring now....

Inevitably I will buy it. I have the VHS and it's great to watch Queen perform in the dark and with Freddie in good form. I look forward to (hopefully) improved visuals, audio and an outside chance of more live footage.

If they're showing the old version at the cinemas then I don't think they have recut the concert or they'd probably show the new version.

I'm not really a big fan of paying an extra 3$ for the glasses, on top of paying 10 (or 8) dollars for the movie.
So no, you're not.

Well, people are talking about the cinema release, and the press release that's coming out next week. In the cinema you can't turn off 3D. Unless they show on cinemas a 2D and a 3D version.

But from the press release from Sony/More2screen http://www.dcinematoday.com/dc/pr.aspx?newsID=2895 there's not a single word about a 3D version.

Just hope to god they correct the speed of the film to the original sound. And Queen production had access to the original film stock and not just a copy.
(fingers crossed).

In the case they fix the speed I'm buying it no matter which cut it will be.

In the case they will NOT fix the speed (which is highly probable since they didn't fix the speed on e.g. the Japan 75 footage), I will complain, complain, complain, complain, complain, then buy it anyway and fix the speed myself :-)

Yes it was. That's the reason why the PAL video releases run too fast
