I was re-watching the Making of ANATO DVD today after a long time
and I had always had a doubt about something in it. In the special
features session when Brian is showing off the demo to his arrangement
to God Save the Queen, he tells about E.R. being the producer and
that this is an obvious joke.

Not that obvious to me. Do you know "who" or what is the quoted E.R. in the God Save the Queen sheet?

Of course Elizabeth was in my mind, but Regina wasn't obvious to me. Not being british excuses me for not knowing the Queen's initials?

Haha!
Regina is Latin for "Queen".
I guess you're not Italian either ;-)
LOL

As you say, you aren't British, so no worries :0

Well if *I* was Queen Elizabeth Vagina, I'd be running about the East End shouting "Let them eat...me! Let them eat...me!" Plus, I'd keep all the actual cake for myself. But that's just me. She's probably too old for all that, uh, cake stuff.

Dear, by initials, I meant what the Queen uses to sign court
documents and in whathever the E.R. appears as a british mark.
Of course I know her name is not Elizabeth Regina, if you thought
so.

Cheers!

bring it Casper

Arthur:  Be quiet! I order you to be quiet!
Woman:   Order, eh? Who does he think he is? Heh.
Arthur:  I am your king!
Woman:   Well, I didn't vote for you.
Arthur:  You don't vote for kings.
Woman:   Well, how did you become King, then?
Arthur:  The Lady of the Lake her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water signifying by Divine Providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur.  That is why I am your king!
Dennis:   Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
Arthur:   Be quiet!
Dennis:   Well, but you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!
Arthur:   Shut up!
Dennis:   I mean, if I went 'round saying I was an emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

see, there's a bit of an issue here...if people can use the inetrnet and long into queenzone to ask a "silly" question, then they can much more easily either

a, use a search on this site before asking it, or
b, use google search

you need to lighten up

The issue with that is that this is a discussion forum, not a google portal. If everybody did what you suggest the value of forums like this would plummet exponentially. I never knew about the anecdote that the op described, and I didn't immediately know what ER referred to either. And I still wouldn't had he or she simply googled it and had a conversation with him/herself. To me it's a very destructive practice to repeatedly attack entire classes of posts as silly or stupid (googleable questions, old book reviews, etc) based on knowledge or attitudes highly specific to you ("I already know that" or "I don't like your book review"). Is the potentially chilling effect on new conversations really less important than your 'right' to perpetually (and disproportionately) stomp on people's thoughts, motives, interests etc? I'd say no.

ah, my favourite cyber stalker returns..so you're saying that my comments are less worthy than the "OP's" ?

weird how you posted a reply in this thread 4 days ago (after i commented about the OP's question) and it never occurred to you then to comment on what a c*nt i was being..yet today? well...suddenly you get a delayed moralistic compulsion to put me in my place!!! thing is, if you didn't think it four days ago, then you merely decided to "have a go" for the sake of it today...that makes you a bigger C*nt than you're implying i am...

amazing...who the f*ck died and made you God?...and when is your comment more or less worthy than mine? must be great to be such a wonderfully perfect human being all the time eh? your sanctimony knows no limits does it?
and you're being ridiculous....stop generalizing about me....there's a huge difference between this "ER" question and asking about specific tracks etc

point of fact: if you google "queen er" the very first hit you get explains all...so anyone anywhere could've found this out with little difficulty

-_- brENsKi, sometimes you say really interesting and informative things, and other times you just go and get all defensive about stuff. I'm not saying this to try to "put you in your place," or be "holier than you," I'm just saying your comments like that whenever someone makes a valid criticism on how you sometimes attack people gets really annoying.

Besides, like GratefulFan said earlier, if notimeforlosers would have just Googled the answer, I never would and would never have learned this. Now I do know it and, though it probably won't make much difference on my life, it's nice to know.

Again, I'm not saying I am some perfect human being or something, and neither is GratefulFan, and I'm not trying to put you in you're place, I'm just saying your comments can sometimes be a little annoying.
