Take a peek over at the Letters section of Brian's webpage... perhaps a hint of things to come? Why else would he post that letter?

Why else would he post that letter?

Perhaps because of this: "All I can say is thanks for treating us so well (as always) No other band in the world would give us so much content in one package. Can't wait for the next dvd release, whatever it may be."

Look at the letter below as referred to earlier in this topic.
I think this is not saying anything at all. Only a bit of humor from Brian!
From this I can tell NOTHING about a new DVD release, not even IF there will be a new release!

I expect a new DVD ofcourse, but this
letter says nothing at all.

I hope for a release in May and Xmas 2004.

Hi Bri.

Hits 2 just arrived in Melbourne today. I thought Hits 1 and Live at Wembley were amazing. Hits 2 is totally over the top. All I can say is thanks for treating us so well (as always) No other band in the world would give us so much content in one package. Can't wait for the next dvd release, whatever it may be. My secret wish is Earls Court 77.

Stay well.

Ian Murray.

A rather warmer Melbourne.

---

Brian replied:

Thanks Ian - We'll look at Earls Court ... just for you ...

Cheers b

Let's hope "not".

I guarantee there were hundreds of Queen performances better than this one. There must be dozens of Queen concerts in the archives in releaseable quality (after some remastering, of course).

Brian should contact Jimmy Page. Pagey will teach Bri a thing or two about fixing up video and audio.

But Page also edited the performances! (except for one). And not because the un-issued tracks were not good enough. Knebworth for instance: several more tracks of this gig have been and sometimes still are aired on MTV! But on the remastering pasrt of course you are oh so right.

I hope they will release Budapest '86, It's very good I think. But not so interesting because Wembley is already on DVD.
I have seen Milton keynes some times, but i don't think its very good, its only ok.
Still hope for Live Aid '85 as a remastered bonus :-)
Led Zeppelin DVD is one of my favorite. Before that I did never lsiten to Led Zeppelin, now I love it :-)

Got last week the Brazilian "Final, live in Japan, Tokyo 1985" DVD.
Great concert, and now I finally have it in great quality! (only had a VHS copy 2nd generation even).
Well worth getting!

What Queen prod. could do is make a 2 hour Rare Live, if they won't release old gigs because of bad recordings etc during some songs, then a selection like in Rare Live could be an option.

"But Page also edited the performances! (except for one)."

Very true. But if Queen released Earls Court 77, I'd actually prefer that they played around with the audio of both nights, because the performance on the first night was certainly not their best of the tour. I'm hoping they'll release the second night in its entirety. The version of Killer Queen on Rare Live just blew me right away. It's from June 7th, contrary to what the credits on the video say.

Proton, how is the audio mix on the Tokyo 85 DVD? Are Brian and Roger louder in the mix, or is it the same terrible mix that came out on VHS all those years ago, with Spike being as loud as Freddie?

Hehe, thanks for popping in briefly. I was about to click to bid on an Ebay auction, but now I'll steer clear of this one for good. Thanks, Adam.
