Just seen the Rolling Stones have released a 4 DVD set of live footage. Do any of you think we will ever see any sort of never before released live footage released by Queen.?????????

THe Stones thing isn't what we'd want from a Queen set anyway, so you can't compare.

The Stones played different sized venues in every city on their last tour. In London that meant Twickenham (which I attended & is on this set), Wembley Arena, and The Astoria (!). SO this set has a club, arena, and stadium concert all from the same tour, plus some documentary on a fourth disc.

A Queen Live box is looking less likely, and even, possibly, unnecessary. As long as a reasonable number of llive DVDs get put out, why would we need a box set? Possibly a double CD "Early Years" to cover important concerts that were recorded but not filmed, but that's it, I would suggest.

Milton Keynes
Japan 85
Earls Court
Hammersmith 75
Rainbow 74

Would be sufficient to cover Queen Live, wouldn't it? (give or take the odd concert for personal choice)

A seventies Dvd compilation is being mooted, they don't beleive the market is large enough for more than one product from this era

Well, should they decide to release something like this, I hope they will include some early stuff, like 31/03/1974 Rainbow etc... Not just edited version of Hammersmith '75, Earls Court '77 and Rainbow '74....

Still, I'd rather see a full 1979 show :-P

Personally I think they should take a good hard look at the Mother of all live DVD's, the Zeppelin DVD. This is a formula Brian & Roger/Queen should follow. A few tracks from various "milestone concerts". Hoping for a full Earls Court or Hammersmith just isn't going to happen. But moments from these shows, as well as the Rainbow, Hyde Park, and some monumental Japan shows. There are many others. Even up to the Magic shows. But not Wembley. It's been done to death. But maybe something from Budapest and close it all w/ WATC from Knebworth,w/ actual footage of the band and more importantly Freddie for obvious reasons. The crowd only shots on Rare Live, (ack), is pointless. Queen usually sets the standard on these different dvd releses. But Jimmy Page raised the bar infinately higher w/ his presentation on that DVD.

Hmm I don't like the edited stuff, so I'd rather prefer some full show.
But I don't think they're going to release this sort of stuff..

I read an article in Sospubs.co.uk on the extensive work done for the Zep dvd. V.impressive guy that Mr Shirley. No, not Justin-Sh-Smith.
But in what is shown, there was a huge load of work done on the sounds involved. Something Queen hasn't had to do yet. That's why, as a Queen fan, I think we don't have anything to pass judgement by. Except the dvd-a work, which is stellar! Live at Wembley is the only live work, excluding WWRY, that has had proper work done. The GVH dvds don't count in my opinion. And yes, the wwry has had f-all done on the sound. Only the visuals.

Peace,
Adam.

Who is "They"?

Is it the same "They" who also believe that if a band (such as Pearl Jam, for example) released every one of it's shows on tour, no-one would buy them?

To cover the time to a possible release of Rainbow '74 on DVD I decided to record it from original VHS tape to DVD+R using a dvd-recorder. :-)
Working on getting a VERY good copy of Earls Court 77 for a transfer to DVD. :-) Hope to have it 1 or 2 months from now.

Anger is a nice feeling:)
Not destructive one, not being offensive or sth...
But beeing quite annoyed ain't bad:)

At least- when it'll already happen- I'll be the happiest peron on earth!!! And if it won't- I won't be disappointed!

C'mon...!
The anger is a feeling that makes you react! If you're angry it means that there is something happening you don't like or approve...If realised in time, works on your advantage, makes you REACT- not in a destructive way; the bad things start to happen if you hold it for a while and than it realeses itself, when you can't control it... If you have a control- it's a really good thing!
I'm not saying that anger is sth absolutely beautiful...
...but I know that ppl who think the anger is utterly negative feeling aren't very happy in their lives- they deny their own feelings... Everybody's angry sometimes... And it ain't bad...

I've been studying artetherapy. It's psychotherapy through art- music, dancing, painting, whatever... I've seen many ppl full of anger but keeping it under the surface because "it's not nice to be angry" or because they weren't allowed to be angry when they were kids or just simply were scarred of their own anger... Not a nice thing, I can assure you...

I've also heard great story which I really believe in
There was a master and his disciple... Disciple was trying to achive master's peace of mind and his spiritual level... One day he asked his master
"How are you doing this? You're never angry!!! How is it possible?"
Master smiled and replied
"You're absolutelly wrong- I'M ANGRY ALL THE TIME"

What in the world? Why are crap bands allowed to release loads of things but such major international groups can only release certain things? What a joke! The idea of doing a compilation of highlights is a TERRIBLE idea if they have all good quality material to release! That was supposedly the only reason Zep did it that way though I have SERIOUS doughts about that. I see no reason why not to do however many d.v.d. and c.d. releases AND a box set of loads of random live material. Has this plan changed that anyone knows of?
