I thought he was rather spiffing myself.

Mind you, compared to Daltery, Plant, Zucherro and the absolutely beastly Paul Young - even I might have seemed allright.

He seemed constipated and in a drug-induced semi-stupor. Same as always. Oh, and that costume he wore.. awful!

I thought he sounded ok in the stadium, don't really like G&R in the studio but, live they are ok.

Extreme were awesome too. My favorite, next to George Michael.

Axl did have a cool T-shirt that day. In fact went out and bought it a week later.

Never gonna wear it, never gonna wear it.

I think he was awesome,
in WWRY he was just great. that version of WWRY is my favorate, i like it even more than the original version.
when he screamed "Come Ooooon" it was just great.

and he did a pretty good job in Bohrap.
I don't know why don't you guys like him.

I might be one of the biggest Axl fans here, but I don't think any of his performances on that day were very good. Well, it was at the height of his 'gargling shards of glass whilst perpetually legging it around the stage to avoid a sniper' stage persona phase. Still, as G&G pointed out, at least heused to keep most of his appointments on those days.

Personally, I would have liked to have heard him sing BoRhap all the way through by himself. Axl was/is capable of delivering a ballad with some feeling as well as belting out a hard rock song. BoRhap and The Show Must Go On show Elton's lack of range these days.

As Robert Plant said "no one could do a Freddie", and I agree. Aside from George Michael, no one could really sing a Queen song like Freddie. Extreme did well, I love Robert Plant and the way he did Crazy Little Thing Called Love was very cute, Bowie is Bowie and I love him as well as Annie Lennox who is amazing herself, but Elton (whom I also absolutely love) could not sing a Freddie song and neither could Axl. I thought he was horrible. I understand Axl was/is a fan of Queen and that's great, but didn't I hear something about Freddie not caring for him? If so, why was he even asked to perform at his tribute?

i think it was afwul. But then i again, I never had the feeling on a GnR live show 'ah Axl is singing good'
He totally raped Rock You, and Borhap.

Even the John Farnham version was better
