Having up-graded to a Sony digital TV I just wondered if anyone had any good or bad experiences with a Sony surround sound system.

My intention is to do a little research before purchasing, however as you are all here might as well start with you lot.

So whos got one and would you recommend it?

I think Sony is a very good brand but if you seriously intend to buy a good home cinema, then you should choose something else. Best receivers are undoubtedly Onkyo (same price as Sony receivers anyway). Best DVD players are Pioneer, Panasonic or maybe JVC. Not sure about speakers but these shouldn't be Sony either.

But if you intend to buy a very cheap set somewhere in Tesco, nothing wrong about Sony.

Just be sure you get one with DTS. It's not better or anything, just makes everything a little louder.. pure gimmick, but Queen have chosen to make their DVD surround mixes DTS-exclusive rather than the more universal standard, Dolby Digital.
