Ugh what a lousy show!

I never seen so many tributes in 3 1/2 hours! About 75% of the show was tributes. Granted, these people deserve their dues after working so many years in the industry. But whatever happened to the AWARDS?! Isn't this suppose to be an awards show?! If the Academy would like to pay tributes, they should make a seperate show. I remember a time, long ago, yes, that it was award, performace, award, etc.

Gott in himmel!

Also did anyone detect the lagging because of the editing?! My station did. There was a point that the logo of the Grammy awards stood for almost 5 mins.

The performances. Well, honestly, I wasn't blown away. The tribute to The Beatles was awful! FFS! Dave Matthews?! Sting? And that country star dude which I forgot the name, because I dont listen to country?!

However, I really did like Beyonce's and Prince's performance, as well as the Funk performace. Those were the bits that I only liked.

Hey! LOL Did anyone catch that advert the academy showed for "what's the download" web page, and the lack of applause after the advert aired!? I thought the ad was funny, and so unrealistic. :))

Another shocker, Ben Moody from Evanessnce or whatever you spell it with long hair and beard?! I used to think that dude was HOT (he looks like my bf ;) ), but he now looks like one of the members of Lyrnyrd Skynyrd! :o

Oh this show was disappointing. I want my 3 1/2 hours back, please!?

I was shocked to see Ben Moody (and it wasn't because of his hair) but his "supossed" break up from the band.

It was great to see 50 Cent as the LOSER of the night, because that's what he really is.

The Beatles tribute was absolutely awful. To me it was more like an insult rather than a tribute.

Kudos for Evanescence, Beyonce and Outakst. At least for one year they broke the mold of always giving awards to only adult/contemporary artists.

I agree, this "break up" for me it doesn't seem real after what happened tonight.

Ugghhh The Beatles tribute. Awful! Awful!

I was glad to see Olivia Harrison. She kept it short, and sweet. She's lovely.

However, Yoko, it looked like she hasn't talked to too many people in years. She was constantly blabbing.

I agree, Shoujo, it was very disappointing. Mum and I cringed when we saw who was doing the tribute. Their voices just...don't blend well and they mutilated the poor song.

And what was with 50 cent walking up the stage even though he lost?

I hated Christina Aguilera's dress and her hair and oh, her.

Anyway, I went to bed a bit after 10pm and missed the funk. I taped it all anyway in the beginning perhaps because I thought it would be worth it...*grumble*

I wonder why No Doubt won a grammy for a song from an album that was released on late 2001.

Anyways, they deserved it, though I would have wanted 'Stacy's Mom' to win as well.

I seem to think the Grammy season goes from October to October. No Doubt releases a song in November 2001, then it's eligible for the 2001-2002 awards, which were last night. Anyways it's not uncommon for a band to be nominated for stuff off the same album in 2 different years. U2 won a Grammy for Beautiful Day in 2000, then won for ATYCLB the next year.

Speaking of 'No Doubt', good news for all the fans of this band.

They will be touring this summer. So far there's only some dates for the shows on the west coast, but I'm sure some of them will be later added.

"Zeni, yesterday's grammy was from the period October 2002-October 2003. "Underneath at all" was a single in November 2002, that's why that son got nominated."

Yeah, my fault. Got my years screwed up. I still think it's 2003, apparently.

That would mean that my years for the U2 example were also screwed up as well, at least I think they are. Either way, the truth is out there.

I think it's great that No Doubt won! They were more than likely the only newer band/musician/artist(s)/whathaveyou that was there I think deserves awards. And as for Outcast winning best album...

I did not attempt to watch "The Grammys" as I was afraid they would suck. They always let me down. So, I said no to them and I was able to watch, my soon to be disappearing, "Sex and The City". I am glad I saw it, it was a quite wonderful episode.

Oh, and yaaay@No Doubt touring!!!! No Doubt rocks!!!!

The Grammy has a tendency to give awards to artists who didn't win them back when they actually deserved them.

And when the time came when they didn't deserve a grammy, they got it because the grammy jury was like... Ooops, we should have given them that grammy before.

Well Dan! You didnt warn me! Grrrr!

BTW Geeks, I agree he did get the tribute that he deserved, and it was touching when his son gave the acceptance speech.

GRRR I was pissed off too that George Harrison didn't win! Sigh, ah well. He is still the best! I love George. In fact, I saw the Tribute Concert DVD again a few hours ago. :)
