I posted this back on Friday. So due to the deletion I'll post it again.

Has anyone read this novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett?

I finished reading it last Thursday, and it's one of the funniest books I've read since Douglas Adam's "A Hitchhickers Guite to the Galaxy".

The book is about two angels, one from Heaven, and one from Hell, and their pursuit of finding the Antichrist (because there was a switch at birth) before Armageddon strikes next Saturday according to the Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter.

It is a hilarious book. It's like The Omen, but funny on purpose. :D

Oh there are also very funny Queen references in the book. For example, Crowley, the angel from Hell, has an old 1926 Bentley. When Crowley leaves a tape (like Beethoven's 5th symphony for example) inside his glove box for more than two weeks the tape turns into a Queen tape. He's being plagued by Queen. If memory serves me correctly Freddie makes an appearance in the book.

Its a great read, had me in stitches.

Read it a few years ago, and enjoyed it very much. Rumour has it that Terry Gilliam is working on a film version, but then again that's been a rumour for quite a while now, and let's face it, how many of his projects actually end up getting made?

Well I heard this rumour too. He was going to make the film based on this book. However due to his last film being a real flop, and lots of studios not willing to finance because of the last film (Gilliam is known to spare no expense in making films)I think he decided to put Good Omens on hold. I heard Gilliam is now making a new film based on the Brothers Grimm.

Perhaps when this film comes out, and if it is a hit, maybe he will go through with Good Omens.

A brilliant book altho it claims that Killer Queen is B4 Bo Rap on GH1.
Shocking.

Without wishing to seem really sad, I thought the album the tapes turn into was a fictional "Best of Queen", rather than the real Greatest Hits?

i completely heart that book.

i just found it crammed somewhere in my room the other day and i reread it. :) the queen refrences were funny too, even tho they were implying that queen is evil.

After reading this thread weeks ago, I finally managed to get my paws on a copy from the library. I'm about halfway through now and wasting so much time on it :-)
I've discovered a new favourite quote: "gayer than a treeful of monkeys on nitrous oxide"
Had me in stitches for quite awhile.
