Hey guy, let me ask you, what is the point of those "Japanese Cardboards"? I mean, I find no difference between the original ones...

I feel like dumb, have I missed something???

This set of newly released packages (which are stunning) are Japanese remasters. (If I'm correct the remasters were used some years ago also) So the "point" of these tracks is that they are supposed to sound better than what we have heard before. Read the comments of other Queenzoners in a former post I've made here about these Japanese Cardboard cd's. I've put them on my site for people to hear, to judge and even to convince people to buy them. I myself think I can hear a difference. e.g. as I've commented about The Hitman on my download page, this was a song I never liked before but this "Japanese" version changed my mind. Play them loud and listen. Perhaps you'll hear a difference too.

Oh well men! I was confused then! You said you didn't like that song very much, and as then you said that this version changed your mind I thought it was a different version of the original, and... I found no difference, hehehe.

Well, yes, I've checked out and it sounds bloody great! What songs are in these Japanese relase?

The tracklists are the same as the original vinyl albums. Anyone knows if the 'extra magical ingredients', the Miracle bonustracks and Track 13 are included?? As these are LP duplicates, they shouldn't be included....

They are included according to track lists at HMV.

I'll have AKOM, Miracle & Innuendo within a few hours, just waiting for Fed Ex. They arrived in town early enough Saturday but the lazy fucks didn't get them out for delivery even though they were originally due Friday and they told me they'd get them out Saturday. I'm not bitter or anything.

Um, but as I was saying.. I believe it's only the sleeves which are to duplicate the albums, not the content. Thank goodness! I can't wait to edit together the extended version of AKOM from 24 bit remastered versions :-P

DF, how are you gonna do that? That's the only 24-bit release. The other previous ones in comparison will sound radically different. :S

Peace,
Adam.

The elements for the extended version are the original and 'A Kind Of A Kind Of Magic', which is included, that's why I mentioned doing that.

It's a relatively simple edit.. repeating the chorus singing 'done' three times at one point and then going into the 'A Kind Of' version. And as I've mentioned before, I do it a bit smoother than they did originally. :)

Alternatively there's an even simpler single edit method that makes a slightly longer version (like 6:48), but that results in a section being repeated.. not that anyone would notice.

I've been thinking of trying some sort of editing workshop with screen caps and samples to show folks the way I do it. I'm not sure if it would work out, but maybe I'll give it a try with this later :)

Here's the HMV page for AKOM:
http://www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail.asp?sku=1903547

You can see that it's 12 tracks. Track 2 being "¶²ÝÄÞ¥µÌޥϼޯ¸" or A Kind Of Magic means that track 10 being "¶²ÝÄÞ¥µÌÞ¥±¥¶²ÝÄÞ¥µÌޥϼޯ¸" would be 'A Kind Of A Kind Of Magic' they both start with the backwards P thingy and track 10 has it twice. So that must be the symbol here for 'A'

LOL

Edit: Oh, and besides, we know that the audio material itself is the same as the 2001 remasters, so there's the answer right there.

I just got them. Quite impressive!

The outer & inner sleeves are exact LP replicas so the extra songs aren't listed there. But the discs themselves list them as well as the huge foldout inserts.

Ah ha! I had read that someone thought the LP versions didn't have extra tracks. But it turns out that they do. So that explains that then!

Adam.
