This topic has probably been here already, but I'd like to know who are your fave writers and what kind of books do you like (if any):)) I adore horrors and fantasy and fave writers are Stephen King, Dean Koontz and J.R.R. Tolkien...

I'm a lazy reader. To me a book has to be really damn fuckin' good so I can read it fast and not get bored. Some books drag for so long on non-sense, and that's why I don't like to read much.

So from those few books I've read, and that have really kept me going...

- All the Harry Potter books (Rowling)
- One Hundred Years Of Solitude (Garcia Marquez)
- The Beatles Anthology ... (still reading it)
- Crime and Punishment (Dostoevsky)
- Killing Pablo (Marc Bowden)
- Anything by Stephen King

Now, if we're talking about comic books, I know a whole bunch that I like...

- Calvin and Hobbes
- Garfield
- Mafalda
- Zits
- The Boondocks

I enjoyed reading stephan kings "night shift" the stories scared the shit out of me.

right now, i am reding roots. its amazing.

The one author i refuse to read is

Charles Dickens. I was forced by my english teacher to read one of is books. as was everyone else. I read oliver twist. It sucked, terrible, worst piece of literature ever. Maybe is b/c im only in 8th grade, but it was just terribly boring.

The worst book, was A Wrinkle in time. I hated this bok. It litterally made me sick to read it. it confused me. It made me sweat and have head aches when they got to the parts about 1 demensional worlds, and how their bodies were compressed and they couldnt breathe.

QUEEN'S MY BAND, AND FREDDIES MY MAN!

My favorite book changes every day, but here are a few authors...

-Stephen King
-Lisa Scottoline
-SE Hinton
-Dean Koontz
-Al Franken
-George Orwell
-Jonathan Kellerman
-Robin Cook
-KA Applegate (Okay, yes, I'm the biggest dork in the world. But I L.O.V.E. the "Animorphs" series!)
-Henry Rollins :)
-Judith Martin, aka Miss Manners
-John Grisham
-Anthony Burgess
-David Sedaris
-Nat Hentoff

Amanda...is there a Dickens novel out there that you would recommend? I've really tried to like him, but aside from "A Christmas Carol", every one of his books that I've read has put me to sleep, especially Great Expectations.

And Nina, the woman you speak of for "The Year They Burned The Books" is Nancy Garden. And she's great too.

God wants you to send me some money.
