I have purchased the "In The Studio: The Game" CD on eBay, but instead of a silver factory pressed disc (like my "In The Studio: A Night At The Opera" and "In The Studio: News Of The World" CDs) I got a CDR with graphics (In The Studio Logo, etc) printed directly on it plus a cue sheet (which looks photocopied). The airing year is 2000. I know that the 1991, 1993 and 1995 pressings of this CD are silver factory pressed, but the seller says that all recent issues (2000+) of radio show discs are CDRs these days. Can anyone confirm this or do you think I was ripped off with a homemade disc ? The (poor quality) graphics over the CDR maybe could be done with one of these CD printers, I am not sure.

I think he ripped you off and burned the CD himself.

I have noticed that many promos are these days cd-r discs. Check out that link for one example.

DF, it's not a label, the graphics are printed directly on the CDR. That's why I am unsure if it was homemade or not.

Whisperer, yes, the disc looks like that promo CDR. I am only in doubt if the recent "In The Studio", "Westwood One", etc, radio discs are done that way too, these days.

That's me! I am a NUT about my CD's! LOL!

Thanks ogre - I am aware about promo CDRs made by record companies (EMI, etc), but what I would like to know is specifically about radio station discs containing radio shows (interviews/concerts)...

The CD is ink printed, but this LightScribe technology sounds very interesting !
