There is no worse way to wake up than to be yanked from a peaceful sleep by a telephone ringing, and the other person on the line if a member of the Bush camp spreading lies and distortions about John Kerry.

I was woken up by someone from the Karl Rove machine pretending to be from an independent polling company, who then asked me how I would feel about having a President "who went to Vietnam, and then came back and publicly denoucned his own country while it was still at war."

I told them that would be great, and not to call me when I'm sleeping, before hanging up on them.

Of course, this person was not from an independent polling company. This was a method of giving unsuspecting voters doubts about John Kerry.

I am disgusted. Has anyone else received this phone call? Would it be acceptable to tell them to fuck off if they tried it again? (KIDDING, KIDDING, DON'T freak out on me.)

That statement is as true today as it was 20 years ago, Geeks. Just because that fact dosen't fit your personal agenda dosen't make that fact any less true.

Yeah, same way that it was true that Max Heller, who ran for the Senate against a client of Lee Atwater, was indeed a "foreign-born Jew who did not believe in Jesus Christ as the Savior."

That does not give Atwater any call to use it as a nasty technique.

Are you saying then that the American People should NOT take Kerry's war record into account?

No more than they should take into account Bush's, or lack thereof.

Or Max Heller's religion.

It's a question of John Kerry exercising his freedom of speech, not fighting in Vietnam.

You can't vote for John Kerry - look at his head for Christ's sake! I bet he wears sandals with socks, he looks the type. These are the kind of things you must think about when you're deciding who to put in charge of the world's only superpower.

He's a conman! Don't forget, I'm a rogue myself, and we blackguards can pick eachother out at thirty paces.

If he makes President, then I, ladies and gentleman, am a banana.

Flashman, support your political cartoonist! Vote for John Kerry!

Also simply because the alternatives are Bush and Elvis Presley. He's the most popular write-in candidate.

I think Oprah should run for president. Or a reincarnation of Gandhi.

Well, I don't want Bush to be re-elected as a president. That's for sure.

By the way, did anyone hear that in Canada we have a Liberal minority gov't that was elected in on June 28th?

I think I'd rather have a president "who went to Vietnam, and then came back and publicly denounced his own country while it was still at war," than one that looks like an ape.

Funny you should mention primates. I've got a picture somewhere on my PC or my DVD+R's that compares Bush's expressions to very similar monkey facial expressions. It's very funny

Of course people like Deaky's Left Nut would rather vote for a president whose administration has done nothing but cover lies with patriotism.

The sad part is that they're way too blind to understand that standing up for your citizen rights and denouncing the wrong decisions of the government is considered by them as Anti-Americanism.
