They should start a new band with a different configuration. They should not be a quartet.
I say more is more, so more people rather than a Police-like trio -- get a couple of singers, get a woman in there, more guitarists, etc.
Then, they should be called Artifact, because they are like pieces of an old thing rediscovered, meaning something different in a new context, but traceable to their origin.
They should not cover any Queen songs until their 3rd album.

Otherwise they can be Isotope, because they have a halflife.

SMILE

After all, they are 2/3 of Smile (compared with 2/4 of Queen) and maybe they could even get Tim to join them.

Getting Tim Staffell to join would be the greatest thing of all! Except Tim has his own band (Amigo) -- seems he still likes one-worded band names! -- but if they did get together, it would be a great collaboration. They could call themselves Three Old Queens With A Smile! (LOL)

interesting to note that at the 46664 concert (and DVD) Bono and the Edge were billed as "Bono" and "Edge" and not as "U2"

They don't make up U2 as a whole. They're also only half of U2
