cduniverse says it'll be out august 17... anyone have any more info on this the title looks to be greatest hits -we will rock you (to coinside with the musical I assume) my only question is won't this confuse Americans when they go to the music store? You could walk into any store nowadays and see all theese compilations at once taking up the space for any other Queen releases: Greatest Hits Classic Queen Queen Rocks Greatest Hits 1 & 2 box Greatest Hits III Platinum Collection Box I mean sure I'll probably buy the new comp. but don't you think the flodding the market of greatest hits would leave a sour taste in most people's mouth? why don't they release a real box set that supposedly been in the works for so long so there's something actually new to buy?

Last I heard Brian wanted to get rid of the compilations altogether so people would buy the albums, so I don't understand why this compilation is coming out now. Plus the compilations always have the Top 40 singles rather than the FM album hits that made Queen famous in the first place. Well at least they got I'm In Love With My Car on this one.

Question: Do we REALLY need another Greatest Hits rehash?? I mean, really? More foolish things to spend your money on. Bring on what the fans have been waiting on for the past three years -- the Rarities boxset! PLEASE!!

They're taking their time revealing the track list, but I'm told it contains three live Milton Keynes tracks and as reported by Brian himself, the original single version of "I'm In Love With My Car" so it's going to be a bit unusual. The timing of this release is to coincide with the musical opening in Vegas and the Milton Keynes tracks are included to help promote the upcoming DVD release of that show.

well I mean the DVD release is great and all but why just release a few tracks from something they obviously have in good quailty, why not do a CD release along with it...that would make more sense to me.

I'd be into a third DVD with the 90's stuff plus??????? at any rate the rarities stuff would be nice along with some classic live dvd. Greatest Hits CDs are too redundant for most of us in this forum.

VGB, it's being released on dvd. If you want an audio cd, record the audio from that and make your own! I mean, come on... Peace, Adam.

well it's not the fact there's not going to be an audio release, I mean yeah if I wanted the audio that bad yeah I could just rip it off the DVD. I just think it's kinda silly to put 2-3 live tracks of something on a compilation when they could just as well release the whole thing thats all... but then again Hollywood might not have as much faith ($$$) in a Queen live release, to sell as much compared to something with "Greatest Hits" stamped on it, I can see that reasoning.

Coming out Aug. 17?!? Ugg, thats my birthday. Anyway, the live MK songs is a good idea. Any word on which ones they are? I was thinking about this the other day, the DVD. To help w/ its promotion they should release the greatest song from that show on audio for all the radio stations to play. What song is that you ask...? Somebody To Love of course. Arguably the finest moment Queen and more specifically, Freddie ever had on stage. If this doesn't spark interest then nothing will.

I wouldn't say Hollywood has anything against putting out live stuff.. didn't the U.S. 'Live At Wembley' come first, as well as the recent remaster?

Actually it *would* be nice to have a good live FAST version of WWRY on a compilation ;) And I love the one at Milton...you can hear the crowd sing with that one better than others I think. Hopefully that's one they're putting on there...that would actually be a great idea though so it probably won't happen ;) Queen *actually* sounds like a hard rock band on the Milton WWRY, which would be nice for the compilation for once rather than the "Body Language" stuff....

I'm just saying Hollywood may just be playing it safe by putting out something that says greatest hits that definetly would sell more to the average consumer than "on fire at the bowl" who knows maybe they'll be packaged together, that would be awesome... I like the radio station idea, but hollywood has to throw some money at it, they did a pretty good job with the Greatest Hits III release, but I don't ever remember any actual "new" singles being played on the stations running the contests.

Yes, not a bad idea. Hollywood does have a history of making companion pieces available. Like they did with 'Classic Queen' and 'Greatest Hits', video collections that mirrored their CD counterparts almost exactly, and the Wembley show, both times. Maybe if 'On Fire' sells well, they'll give a CD version a try.

Hey people this new compilation is a non-issue as I shared some of you all's thoughts until I found out this from Brian himself at his own webiste over the past couple of months...I don't remember where on it though...anyway! He said that it is a LIMITED EDITION so for sure at some point it will be pulled. I bet no longer than just a few years so it won't matter too much...
