Am I the only who thinks that Sting became a success out of becoming a Bob Marley wannabe?

Aside from 'Every Breath You Take' and 'Wrapped Around Your Finger' I have to say that they weren't that good.

Eh, they're not bad, but they were too singles-based.

I have never liked Sting... So I guess I don't like the Police either. ;)

The only thing I found funny about Sting was when he was on the Simpsons.

'And I opened for Krusty in '69 which is when he fired me'

That and..

Marge: Sting, you look tired. Maybe you should take a rest.
Sting: Not while one of my fans needs me.
Marge: Actually, I don't know if I've ever heard Bart play one of your albums.
Homer: Shhhh. Marge, he's a good digger!

The Police? Hmm... no me gusta.

I remember taking the piss outta my mum for ages upon discovering a Sting 'Greatest Hits' CD amongst her collection.
I wasn't fooled by her claim that she 'bought it by accident'...

Can't see what's so similar between Queen and Led Zeppelin. Except for some tracks on Queen I.

There are some similarities between bands and those who influence them. No Doubt is not a Madness rip-off, nor is Metallica a Motorhead rip-off, or Nirvana a Meat Puppets rip-off. Those bands were strongly influenced but they did indeed took that sound and improved it.

The Police did most lame bublegum reggae. Although I have to admit that Sting matured a hell of a lot as an artist after he went solo. 'Fragile', 'Shape Of My Heart', and 'Desert Rose' are excellent songs that unlike the stuff from 'The Police' they don't sound all the same.

I don't like Sting personally (he seems like an asshole) though I do like some of his solo music and I always loved The Police. To each his own I guess :)

I enjoy the Police. Their music is a unique blend of a few differen genres. I also like Sting's voice. Like Phil Collins, his voice is really unique, one that stands in terms of vocal talent and unique sound.

The Police are fantastic. Syncronicity is a fantastic album, although a very different type of album from their first one.
