They also realised there was enough wax on the lower part of his body to make 2 new wax figures.

No, perhaps they've just put it back in the closet for a while.

As far as I know the Freddie figure never was at the wax museum. It always was in the Rock Circus at Trocadero (Piccadilly Circus) which is an affiliate of the main wax museum. I think the Freddie figure is still there.

Barb you are correct as usual .
Rock Circus on Picadilly is the place to look.
The Freddie waxwork has never been in Tussauds London, I believe there is a "Freddie" in Tussauds Blackpool but this is not part of the Tussaud's group and is of very poor quality.

Years ago I visited Rock Circus.
Freddie was standing close to the entrance I believe. It was one or the one statue where you could have your picture taken. Of course I did that. Later on I heard they moved it to another place in Rock Circus.

It's been removed so that they can do like they did with Brad Pitt and give it a squeezeable foam ass.

No, actually, I have no idea where it is, but those in front of me are probably correct.

I was in Tussauds London last June, and asked the lady: "Where is the Freddie Mercury?". She answered: "We don't have a Freddie Mercury". I replied, almost shouting:"YOU DON'T HAVE A FREDDIE MERCURY?! THIS IS NOT A WAX MUSEUM!!!"

Of course she went on trying to explain that was indeed a wax museum, and a good one, but I just left. I was ANGRY :)

Cheers,

Ogre-

From what I know there was a Freddie waxfigure in Rock Circus (Freddie in Live Aid clothing) but maybe they changed that? It was added there first half of the 90's I guess. And for sure another Freddie waxwork was in Madame Tussauds in Amsterdam (Freddie in Wembley '86 clothing, yellow jacket, white trousers with red lines on sides). But that was some years ago when I saw it there, don't know if it's still there. But it surely was, I have a picture with it somewhere at home. And it's much better than that Blackpool figure.
