Ok, Don't Stop Me Now is one of my favorite Queen songs but there is one little tiny stupid thing that gets me every time I listen to it- the line "Burnin' thru the sky, 200 degrees that's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit..." 200 degrees is really not that hot. It's not even boiling. Hell- that's not even hot enough to bake cookies! How could you be burning through the sky if you're only 200 degrees?

Other than that, the song's great. Just great.

If your body temperature were 200 degrees, you'd be burning, all right. I mean not literally on fire, but since that is more than twice your normal temperature, I think it makes sense. That's always been my favorite line in the song, actually.

Must be a slow news day! Isn't the body's normal temperature actually 37 degrees? So 200 would be pretty toasty!

Peace,
Adam.

Well, if they're calling him "Mr. Fahrenheit" I would think the 200 degrees would be in Fahrenheit, for which body temperature is 98.6 degrees.

I love that line, myself...but he says..."Burnin' thru the sky, yeah, 200 degwees..." what's with him pronouncing the R like a W?

Actually, if you could get the barometric pressure to 23.32 Hg, water would indeed boil at 199.97 degrees fahrenheit! Of course, your ear drums would pop, and your eyeballs would probably fall out, but hey? At least Freddie would be right!

Anyway, the song would sound really stupid if he sang "212.2 Degrees, that's why....", now wouldn't it????? Let me touch the palm of your hand with a peice of metal heated to 200 degrees, and see if you don't scream louder than Sam Kinison!!

I just listened to Don't Stop Me Now, and I heard that line, and to me, it sounds like he is saying 'degrees' and not 'degwees'. Just my thought.

Water boils at less than 100 degrees Farenheit on Mt Everest yet I never heard of the pressure being so low as to cause anyone's eyes to pop out.

Perhapes he meant 200 C? That would be quite hot...then again he's not Mr. Celseus...hmm.. Maybe "200" fit into the melody more than 212 F (boiling point of water) :-P
