I live in the Netherlands and I like to buy GH: We Will Rock You.
1. Where can I get it? (I prefer a shop in Holland)
2.How many of you have already bought it?
THANX!

I have all the queen albums allready.........
Is this purchase worth it for simply the "2001 remaster sound+quality"? Or is it not noticeable?

I think it is noticeable. And of course you'll get two Milton Keynes tracks (TYMD and UP) and I'm In Love With My Car (Single edit).

I've got various points swirling around in my head out of order, but I'll try to state what I know about this anyway.

- I can tell that the sound quality is improved. I first noticed it with the U.S. Platinum Collection actually.. because we got the 2001 remasters of Hits 1 & 2 in that one also. So you've already got the improved 'Greatest Hits' if you've got the U.S. Platinum version.

- The three bonus tracks are nice, but if you plan on getting the CD version of Milton Keynes which has been announced, you'll have two of them there anyway. That leaves the single b-side version of "I'm In Love With My Car" which is kind of nice to have in this quality, but it's only marginally different than the original or 'Rocks' versions. It has the car sounds at the beginning like on 'Rocks', but none at the end.. so you get to hear it fade out slightly longer.

- The packaging. Original cover pic, but redesigned cover which looks quite nice. The promised 'unseen' photos and track notes by the band aren't there. The pics are all previously released (though the few album cover pics are presented without text, if that qualifies as 'unseen'). Track notes seem even more sparse than before and don't sound like they're written by a band member. There's no first-personage.

So really the advantages of this release are the bonus tracks, a stand-alone version of a real 'Greatest Hits' album for the first time in the U.S. (though it's not our original collection from '81) and the remastered sound quality.

I felt the price was right (initially released at $11.99 at Best Buy with bonus DVD) to finally have something to put in between Flash Gordon and Hot Space in my collection without spending $30+ on an import.

And again, here's my little info & scan page about this one:

That will explain the bonus DVD (only available in-store at Best Buy or via Ebay) and stuff.

hmmm, I guess I'll have to pick this up for the remastered sound then.... I love listening to stuff that sounds good not only musically but the detail and whatnot as well.

I'm quite disappointed in Amazon. First, this CD is hard to find there.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002M5U88/

Once you find it, they have no artwork. No track list, a full $18.98 list price.. what the fuck? Are they trying NOT to sell any copies?

Meanwhile it's ranked the 17th biggest seller at CD Universe. They also have a different music chart of some sort that lists it at #13.

maybe I should just buy the platinum collection if I want the remasters...
The "extra material" on here isn't that exclusive...

I had a listen to the CD back here at HMV, and I thought the sound has definitely improved. I really enjoyed listening to BohRap in particular, now that they finally got rid of the hum at the beginning, which was only otherwise fixed in the DTS 5.1 remix on ANATO / GVH1 DVD's.

I'm definitely going to try and ask for this for Christmas.

You know, they really should stop and think before doing this shit. Freddie spent hours deciding on how to get that intro just right, and the vibrator up his ass turned out to be just what the song needed. Then they have the nerve to remove the sound?
