Well, I think I've finally figured out where my mystery song came from:

www.darrelaustin.com/stuff/Queen%20Boot%20-%20Its%20Late%20(1981).mp3

Apparently this is off of the 'No News is Good News' Bootleg and is actually the BBC sessions done with/for John Peels. Studio recording with 'fake' audience track added.

I've been on the hub for a while and found some john peel session songs, but none of them have the same fidelity as the file above, nor do any of them have the fake audience that the track above has.

What I'm mainly interested in is the fidelity of the above track and finding any other 'mates' that track may have had. So...if anyone has them, let me know ;o)

the whole of that bbc session was done under the title "queen live in middlesex - 1978" even though it was a 77 at the beeb recording

A bit of research also indicates that the last 4 tracks on the 'Rock in Japan' boot are also these. Can anyone confirm that?

It looks like you can actually purchase this bootleg from a Russian site:

http://songs.allofmp3.com/mcatalog.shtml?group=42&album=33&albref=14

It actually looks like a wonderful site, but I'm guessing they're not really in bed with the RIAA (not that selling bootlegs would legit to begin with). Anyone know anything about that site?

Anyone happen to have this bootleg?

Hey, Garden...that's great of you! Can I ask with bitrate you're going to grab them at? (192 would be perfect!)

And, if this is just for me, for the record, I'm really only trying to get the last four tracks from the Japan album, which, *I think* are the good sounding John Peel sessions (But if you grab the whole album, I certainly won't complain ;o)

Brenski:

I found a copy (download) of the Middlesex show from Vinyl of the hub. That's definitely the same show the MP3 I have came from. That said, the sould quality of the MP3 is near pristine while the BBC boots and Middlesex sound pretty bad in comparison. I might just try grabbing the tracks off of the russian site.

It appears that GL has left the building :(

Anyone else have an account with AllOfMP3.com? They no longer take paypal and I'm not keen on sending my CC# over to Russia. If anyone has an account, I'd be glad to paypal them directly to grab these 4 songs. From what I can tell from their preview files (which aren't the greatest of sound) these are the songs I've been looking for (in the quality I've been looking for). It sounds like they were 'remastered' for the CD bootleg.

I finally got these. They sound good. Actually, the entire 'rock in Japan' bootleg sounds good. I'll try to get this on the hub eventually.
